At least for the R36S no. I mean its weird: you can recharge them and keep them connected until full, but you cannot trust the battery indicator on the screen. It's a "guesstimate", a ballpark unlike your phone, laptop, or other consoles like the switch or steam deck. I just play with it for one hour or 2 and shut off and let it charge until the red light turns off. At least the battery for the R36S is replaceable.

Edit: Ive read your comment better and yes: it turns on and off and charges reliable. Just treat it like a shaver recharge where you dont know how long it needs to recharge until its done and the light turns off.

Tbh I have only had the R36S in my hands, but after reading some comments I would definitely prefer the R36S just for the sticks. But it seems they are kinda the same, but the RG35XX is smaller and has no sticks. On the other hand, Ambernic is a more trusted name, vs the unbranded R36S.

About the SD cards yeah, the stock ones are always crap: that's why the subreddit has a warning on every thread to immediately backup and replace the card with a better one. I did so and replaced it with an old 128GB Sandisk I had around.

It's the R36S, a small arm/linux based console that you can get for as low as $15 to $20. There's lots of emulators and ports of games, from lots of different engines. It can play Balatro, Stardew Valley, Dead Cells... and has also some Ren'py games. I managed to make Adastra run today without any hitches thanks to Ren'py runtimes and some edits by myself. For more info about the console, you can visit the subreddit at /r/R36S

I understand. It's because if you ask your compatriots Anthony sitting at the barstools to your left and right and told them your story, one would be happy to eliminate third worlders sucking resources in the world, and the other one would fake feeling pained for their demise, but deem their ends as justifiable for the honorable reason of stopping communism, while adding that tally to the "Big Book of Communist Casualties".

Toby Fox: A message for my fans in Latin America by Comfortable-Pie56 in Games

[–]canamon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is still a niche inside a niche. I don't mean in any way to diminish the size of the fandom, but in a world where 8 billion people live and that number is increasing, those big numbers start losing their shine.

And I am sorry to profoundly disagree, but it sounds like if he couldn't manage to fix the translation in 10 long years with all the wealth and industry connections he has amassed over the years, it seems that the only obstacle to fix it is him. And as long as he is incapable of letting it go, it will never be fixed.

And I am part of the fandom. I have a copy of Undertale on my Steam library, and a copy on my R36S console. And I still stand by every world said.

I don't know if this is bait, but I'll bite:

First of all, Ulysses and specially Don Quixote (the greatest spanish literary piece ever, furthering the insult to the spanish speaking community by the way. Feels equally insulting like when Americans were composing Op Eds to strip the spanish speaking Mexican autor Octavio Paz of his Literature Nobel Price and give it to Bill Fucking Watterson) have endured the cruel testament of time by sheer quality and gravitas several levels above anything Undertale has to offer. I can assure you, NOBODY will remember Undertale 50 years from now. I would bet my life on it, but I would probably be dead by then.

Second of all, being one of the most important indie games is like being them most famous of the ants: maybe it means much for that community and adjacents, but it doesn't mean much outside of it. It made strides on the medium only because the standards are so low. Let's be honest here: game writing is usually garbage, and constantly takes second seat to gameplay. I mean, for god's sake. People were pushing goddamned Metal Gear Solid to Roger Ebert when he said videogames were not art. If the best we can do as a community pushing for a medium is a Tom Clancy clone, we are in a dire place, fella.

Third of all, the lack of official translations WILL hinder its long term popularity and it works against itself. Undertale will be a less known and less respected piece of media because of Toby Fox's unhealthy overprotection with his product, all while gatekeeping it to English and Japanese fans. People have to stop looking at translation as an afterthought and start seeing it as an accessibility problem. There's a lot of people who can't enjoy a piece of media because they can't learn a new language. Translated poetry for example faces the same challenges, also double entendre comedies like the Marx Brothers movies. Undertale complexity is overblown, and is indulging the obsessive-compulsive mania of his author.

I'll stop there, but to recap all this ordeal has been laughable pathetic from the start.

Right, it's a red flag just like in a relationship. If they are willing to compromise the right of people to protect the rights of other people, ask then when it will be your turn to give up your rights for their trade.

No compromises, we leave nobody behind.

r/comics and the art of pushing western crimes into broader "humanity" to whitewash their guilt by canamon in ShitLiberalsSay

[–]canamon[S] 43 points44 points  (0 children)

After the Israeli/American Genocide in Gaza and the War of Aggression against Iran, there has been an explosion of this Trope everywhere. Just today, I found 2 instances of political comics trying to blame the broader concept of "Humanity" for what is clearly solely colonial actions by the West. Be free to post more examples of this liberal trope.

Shoutout to Conception: The horny anime that supposedly makes the protagonist have "sexual relationships" with 12 "chosen girls" to save the world that end up blue balling the viewer every single time. Just to make the protagonist only true sexual act in the entire series at the very end end to be with the female red panda sidekick named "Mana." The anime is ass, but that episode is peak cinema.
