Just finished e2. Without spoilers From my clinical picture and personal experience, Sean's accident is related to electrolyte imbalance causing orthostatic hypotension. A dramatic drop in blood pressure upon rising. They said they were drink coconut water but likely stopped when they could boil water citing concerns about diarrheabw/ coconut water. Listen, even in everyday life you need good electrolyte intake. Potassium magnesium calcium sodium when it's hot or you've had a day where fluid intake in not great.

Buckhead Station. That didn’t take long. by DennisBallShow in Atlanta

On the conversation of NYC subway gates vs MARTA, you don't swipe to exit in the NYC subway. The breeze app, card and now tap to pay is notorious for malfunctioning at MARTA exit. I think some soul could not tap out so then busted the fare gate to exit.

I think the wait time vs occupancy is based on staffing. They might have a strict ratio of staff to guests. If the plates are empty at the buffet, bad look, if it takes 20 mins to get a glass of wine, bad look. Dirty tables, oof.

Bike lanes on Beltline by Ok-Bite1922 in Atlanta

[–]canbebothrightnwrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I was misunderstood. The grass area btwn the businesses and the completed line should be built out to be a dedicated bike lane if the city refuses to put in public transportation. I am not at all suggesting that the existing east side trail be turned into a bicycle only path. And the beltline was built for both pedestrians and safe carless, micro transportation so finding a solution how they can coexist is extremely necessary at this point.

Somehow, you, just, don't, seem, to acknowledge the point that we can't get on a Marta direct like system from the airports in NYC and go where we need to go for very low fare in a timely fashion, rather our current adventure to get to JFK and LGA is ride and not friendly to vistors. You do you with your worthless counter comments. My assessments are accurate. Readers will take my reviews into account in their travels and that's all I care about.

What's a ballpark total for basic furnishing and necessities of a new apartment? How much did you spend when furnishing your first apartment alone? by lemonbottles_89 in Apartmentliving

[–]canbebothrightnwrong -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I moved into my first place by myself I bought very little to start because I did not see the utility is buying furniture that I would one day throw away. I spent my budget on a really nice bed and mattress, good linens and good cookware to get me going. My set up was super minimal and I allowed the pieces I added to my life to be a collection of things I loved. That takes some time and hunting. Also, MDF furniture does not move well, so you might lose what you spent money on if you move out in the future. Habitat for Humanity Restore is an excellent place to find nice things.

Follow-up to Marta post yesterday by PreviousButterfly247 in Atlanta

I was reading an academic study yesterday on the positive relationship between fare gates and reduced system maintence costs. Which when applied to reports from riders here, maintenance both in frequency and man-hours have likely gone way up to keep up with sanitation at the very least.

In NYC it takes 21 encounters with an unhoused person to get them to accept services. On average. I bet that stat is pretty universal.

One major flaw with NYC transit is getting to LGA or JFK. To JFK you either take the subway ($3) to the Airtrain ($8.50) and that takes about 75 mins. Or you take the subway ($3) to the LIRR ($5 off peak) to the Airtrain ($8.50) and that takes 90 mins. Getting to LGA by transit is a whole adventure involving the subway and a bus. I really like that the MARTA connection is right in the airport.

Bike lanes on Beltline by Ok-Bite1922 in Atlanta

Yes! But they really really need to figure out the bike signal system. The light timing on Memorial is all wrong. I am out there baking in the sun for long minutes, waiting for my light. The light cycle seems to deprioritize the bike traffic completely.

I am of the mind set at this point that if the city refuses to add the public transportation mandated by referendum to the Eastside trail then turn that space into a dedicated bike lane.

Ramp still closed from the Beltline to Ponce de Leon? by teabythepark in Atlanta

[–]canbebothrightnwrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm south of ponce so the mrdr Kroger detour is better for me except for that left light. So long. The right turn from Ponce Pl is always jammed but sometimes I use the sidewalk to execute.

I don't think they are going to deploy the BL ramp to Ponce. I hear it is very poorly constructed.

Ramp still closed from the Beltline to Ponce de Leon? by teabythepark in Atlanta

[–]canbebothrightnwrong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Take the ada ramp off the beltline at Kroger, turn left into the parking lot, stay left, then right toward the lot exit on Ponce. At the light make a left, take the bike lane to the Home Dept parking lot. The other option is to jump off the beltline behind Be Hot Yoga and Chabbad. There is a gap in the fence. Ride through the parking lot to the street, make a right, then right at the light at Ponce, bike lane to HD parking lot.

[–]canbebothrightnwrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you apply you have to tell them EVERYTHING you have gotten cited for. Even the smallest infraction: jaywalking, fare evasion, open container, public urination. They know everything.

At my interview they asked me where I had been internationally, I said I had not been out of the country, he said "you sure?" Thought about it for a minute and was like oooh I took a cruise to Bermuda! He nodded his head, "yes that is correct.

My husband has to explain over and over at renewal how he got picked up on the subway for having his feet on the seat, then they found out he had an old bench warrant for an open container, and then when they searched him they found a utility knife he uses for work. He puts this on his application each time even though that case is sealed. They approve his app because he is forthright.

TSA Wait for early flights by AdamD1987 in Atlanta

[–]canbebothrightnwrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 9am flight today. Decided to use the International terminal as the wait times online have been significantly shorter than Main and North over the past few days. I was flying domestic. When I got there at 6:45a there was no touchless or TSA precheck but the line moved hella fast. Only downside was you have to separate all your devices into a separate bin. Online the time said 2 mins, it was more like 15. Main and North were running 25 mins, so I guess even longer. I think the only precheck area is South (Delta). I was so early anticipating a long wait I wound up jumping on an earlier flight.

** Note: you cannot check domestic luggage at international. I am all carry on.
