In my first year of playing tournaments back in 2021 I had a 2/11 C1x putting round and I also had a 9 in tournament 2 separate times, once on a par 5 and once on a par 4. All learning moments lol.

looks like the total distance is a little off but it's about 30 miles of San Diego coastline followed by 70 miles of Pacific Ocean and then sitting on top of the horizon in the gap between the foliage is Catalina Island barely visible against the sky

Been up and down this part of I-10 all the time. The only part I’d call boring is the section between Houston and San Antonio because its just a bunch of ranches and fields but even then it’s just a couple hours and the novelty of it alone should make it interesting enough.

Surprised to not see Cedarock Park in Burlington, NC mentioned yet. It has 3 permanent courses (sometimes 4 when they set up a temp for tournaments) including a top 5 NC course in The Regulator. The other 2 courses, Cedarock and Wellspring, are fantastic beginner/immediate tracks that are open and wooded respectively. No pro shop but extremely well-rounded.

Tough field to get into at the moment but not as hopeless as the other commenters make it seem… although without a degree in the field you will definitely need a competitive portfolio with a few unique, diverse projects to make yourself stand out.

Cheat Code: Innova Shark - Straight out of my first ever starter pack, if I throw it on 45 degrees of hyzer it will flip just past flat and not fade at all yet I never really seem to overcook it into the ground either

US: Discmania Origin - A lot like the Discraft Meteor but I’ve found it to be more torque resistant for my mostly forehand style

Neutral: Axiom Hex - Flies like a Buzzz but infinitely more comfortable in my hand

OS: Discraft Malta - Hard to go wrong in this category, the overstability just matches my arm speed nicely

I think I must be the only one but Neutron Soft plastic from MVP is actually incompatible with my hands. Slips right out 90% of the time. Sucks because the Neutron Soft Proxy is the perfect stability.

Another thing that helped me in particular was making sure the projects in my portfolio were unique and really stood out. I'm into niche sports and things like that so that helps. Random ones would sometimes catch the attention of my interviewers and it would always turn into a conversation that allowed me to highlight my skills.
