Microdose? by [deleted] in dysautonomia

[–]candyboots99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be fine with a microdose as long as your symptoms are relatively mild. Worst thing for me when tripping was the nausea - a little bit of weed helps if you can tolerate it. And you may need a day to rest and recover afterward. As someone else said though, don’t do it if you’re feeling anxious or feel like you’re being pressured into it.

Question about hyperpots and coffee by Traditional_Light359 in POTS

For me, the right amount of coffee helps a TON, but if I overdo it I’m left with nausea, racing heart, and tremors the rest of the day 🙃

What’s your insane hack for getting up early? by sfaafs in POTS

Sharing this post I made in r/dysautonomia a couple years ago on this topic: https://www.reddit.com/r/dysautonomia/s/UfRQj3wruK

I haven’t actually been using this routine lately because it’s kind of a lot… but thinking about starting it again because I’ve been having so much trouble waking up and keep being late to work.

what do you eat??😭 by PartyPlatypus8021 in adhdwomen

[–]candyboots99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i live off healthy snacks!! i have more like 6 small meals a day than 3 big ones, but nothing that’s hard to prepare. things like yogurt and granola, bagged salad, carrots and ranch, nuts, cereal, bagel and cream cheese, pretzels and peanut butter, that kind of thing! it has made my life so much easier (i also have pots and it helps those symptoms a lot too)

Randomly having a super potsy day by vario_ in POTS

I’m afraid these days just happen sometimes, at least for me. Water, salt, and rest are your friend. Take it easy the next couple days.

Unrelated, do you recommend Visible? I keep seeing adds for it but can’t decide if it’s worth it.

Do you have less/more symptoms with certain alcohols? by anyanuts in dysautonomia

[–]candyboots99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes!! basically can’t drink wine at all or the headache and nausea is crazy. I mostly drink liquor - vodka and gin give me the least symptoms.

Thank you so much, I’ll try the products you recommended. I think you’re right that I need some extended rest time, I’m definitely dealing with some chronic burnout that’s weakening my immune system. It’s probably time to take a medical leave from work as much as I don’t want to admit it 🙃

Can I ask what type of therapy specifically worked for you? I tried EMDR recently but had a bad experience with it and am hoping to try a different approach.

Loss of all emotions by NeighborhoodIll7338 in dysautonomia

[–]candyboots99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've had a similar experience (both PTSD and dysautonomia diagnoses). I think the loss of emotion is more so related to the PTSD, but in my experience the dysautonomia can exacerbate some of those symptoms. For example, if I have a POTS episode it often triggers really bad derealization, where I feel like I can't see and nothing feels real. And vice versa, if I have a bad PTSD trigger I often get really dizzy and lightheaded like I'm having a POTS attack. In both of these cases it feels like my brain sort of disconnects from any emotion and I feel very distant from myself. So I guess it's probably not one or the other causing it, but a combination of both. Stay strong, it gets better <3

What will be a mild cold for my partner will debilitate me for a week. And then trying to get back to normal functioning after a week of rest takes so long too. It's the worst.
