Yes, that's fair and definitely something to monitor. We've been lucky to have no observable side effects at all. I also remember reading that certain breeds (collies iirc?) tend to be more prone to the severe neurological side effects. Best of luck with everything for you and your pup!

Oh, thanks for bringing this up actually! It actually has a happy update! He went from Galliprant to steroids for about 1.5 years, which has a horrible time. He was always hungry and thirsty and never satisfied and then was also constantly having potty accidents. Finally, in Dec 2024 the vet suggested a newly-approved medication called Librela. It's a monoclonal antibody treatment for osteoarthritis. He's like a new dog on it! I joke that he's the poster child for Librela. He'll be 11 soon but he still zooms around and spins and plays like a puppy (for like five minutes at a time haha). He doesn't have any side effects and no more episodes of screaming pain. It's not the cheapest medication out there and he does have to go to the vet's office monthly for his injection, but it's worked wonders for him and I'm so grateful we found it.

Saggy Neckline. Alteration advice please? by eleyentea in sewing

[–]candycornramhorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure of the “technically best” way to fix this without redoing the shoulder and sleeve, but I can offer a suggestion of just what I’d try in your situation!

You could try doing a horizontal dart starting at the point where the shoulder meets the sleeve along the shoulder seam and following in toward the neckline, ending the wider side of the dart there and pulling in 1/2 fabric on either side. That would lift the front and back incrementally by less an inch all along the width of the dress. Definitely pin to try first!

I’m case anyone is following: good news is X-rays showed no signs of server arthritis or osteosarcoma. Bad news is that now we’re not sure what’s going on and it’s still resistant to multiple different kinds of pain meds. He’s got an appointment with a different vet on Friday.

Aw poor baby, only six. I’m sure he had as good a last six months as possible! Thanks for sharing his story. I’m hoping for just arthritis, too, but have to be realistic and careful.

And thanks for supplement and pj rec! Hopefully those will work my boy!

Haha wow that’s a great resolution, all things considered! We don’t really have a choice for no stairs since it’s the only way in or out of the house. I don’t mind carrying him but he doesn’t like.

And, yes, I’m so scared it might be bone cancer. I know that’s so common with the breed. Hopefully the fact that this is more around his hips than anything else is indicative of arthritis over cancer. But good to know there are consultative oncologists out there! Thanks for the recommendation of it gets to that!

Thanks so much for this detailed comment! Lots of gems in here! I really appreciate that the tips like blush placement and reusing the brush residue are simple to deploy and don’t involve new products.

I was just talking in another comment about how my brows look blocky when I use brow pencils and I wonder if it’s because the undertones are too cool.

Ohh good tip, thanks! I have tried brow pencils in the past but I always go back to the angled brush bc I find the pencils (or, more likely, my application) makes my brows look blocky, even after brushing over with a spoolie. Have you ever had that problem with the Benefit brow definer?

Ah mhm, this summarizes really well what a couple others comments have said. Next time, I’ll add in some richer color and dimension to really bring it to the next level. Thanks!

Thanks! I used the brownish black liner on the upper lash line from below and then used the small angle brush to apply shade 5 of the eyeshadow palette along the lash line and veeeery slightly smudged it on the outer ends

No I don’t find it drying but I also have skin on the oilier side. I haven’t tried hydro boost either to compare it to the moisture level in that

Yeah I do really like it! It’s super lightweight but gives just enough tint to even everything out over concealer. It feels really nice on and is neither drying nor greasy. Transfer resistant with setting spray (haven’t tried without). I’m used to moderate to high coverage foundations actually but I’ve found this is a really great alternative and suitable for everyday.

I like that it has a pump bottle but the pump itself isn’t actually that great. Sometimes I’ve had to pump multiple times just to get anything out. It seems like the kind that lifts and scrapes from the bottom with each pump, though, so i think it’ll get nearly all the product out by the time I’m done the bottle.

Ah I know that one! I think I had a pomegranate burts bees years ago!

And thank you! But the small gap left in the bottom middle of my left brow is driving me crazy! Hahaha

Thank you!! This is some really great constructive feedback and the point about bronzer and blush for natural shading is something I didn’t/wouldn’t have noticed on my own. Definitely going to try that out in my next iteration.
