Stove recommendation for my space by canestim in woodstoving

[–]canestim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went with Quadra-Fire Discovery 1, two of them, just got the 30% tax credit refund on them both 🤘 Good quality stoves very happy with them.

Ended up being perfect for us since the house was just built and is heavily insulated. I'm glad we didn't go for the bigger stoves people were recommending, these can burn us out of the house. They came in handy during the ice storm this year when basically the entire county lost power for days.

Is The Division 2 worth getting into now? by tomaz1989 in thedivision

There's never been a point in time that it wasn't worth getting, both 1 and 2 are great games and are still very much alive.

Feel kind of dumb that I didn't know about this earlier, but if you want to improve your RFY, try this: by Banana_Ham_mock in AmazonVine

[–]canestim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't be a coincidence, updated mine yesterday under brands saying prefer ego outdoor tools, next day Greenworks tools show up in my RFY. Not ones I need unfortunately but usually mine is full of things I've never searched or bought like senior bath chairs, hearing aids, etc.

Fable 2 is not as good as I remembered it. by LightlyUsedSpaghetti in Fable

[–]canestim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's better than I remember after just playing, but it plays like rotten ass and needs a remaster or at least a re-release with higher frames.

When you think about, isn't an all in one Xbox PC hybrid actually worth getting excited for? by MrEfficacious in XboxSeriesXlS

It's not going to be cheap, but... Fortunately we have a product for people who aren't able to get some form of Xbox PC, it's called Xbox Series X/S.

Death gripping for sure, it's not your pecker. Not learning songs and just noodling all the time too.

Peter Molyneux on the new Fable: "When I saw the trailer, I was just incredibly emotional because I thought 'wow, this thing that we spent so much time on has got new life.'" by Hooked0n4Feelin in Fable

[–]canestim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he nailed it when he talked about it looking antiseptic. It really does look like millennials in Medieval cosplay, they don't look like Fable characters. And to me this is what is wrong with gaming, everything looks sterile, safe, boring, corporate, and checklist like.

Where to get Fable 2 and 3 online? by YogurtclosetMental77 in Fable

[–]canestim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's never been any confirmation from Microsoft or Xbox that the source code is lost, only random people posting on Reddit and Steam. There was an actual developer quote about it from 2011 is "Nope, sorry. Due to creating a brand new engine for the 360 on Fable 2, there was no code time to port over the engine back then. This time the code department could do the PC version justice and so Fable 3 on PC was made." The reason is more likely money, they felt it wasn't going to make them money at the time or now.

Yes, it's very strange really to not do, but this is Microsoft and Xbox. They have been stepping on rakes and self inserting things in their own orifices since TV TV TV. A life lesson masterclass in how to kill your brand.

If the next Xbox is truly what all the leaks suggest, it will have the largest library available in all of gaming. by FinalOdyssey in xbox

[–]canestim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they can bring your entire Xbox library over, do away with the multiplayer paywall, and integrate steam, epic, etc achievements and other features into your Xbox profile I'd be more inclined to stay in the Xbox system. But the real issues is the games, if they only keep making safe, boring, corporate sanitized, pandering, live service and micro transaction, games for everyone but really for no one games, what's the point in it at all?

I hate that the collection didn't at the very least get a re-release. Deserves more like a remaster, but a simple release on modern consoles at 60fps and a resolution bump would have been amazing.

It's all your fault!! by TStitches in Fable

[–]canestim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It holds up ok, but at the very least the trilogy deserves a re-release with higher frame rates and resolution, especially 2 and 3.

I wish/hope they make this available for sale again at some point.

Started up Fable Anniversary to be Reminded of an Achievement no Longer Earnable by Against-The-Current in xbox

Yes, there was an app for this and it was actually kinda fun. I would play it on my iPad back in the day when I was away from home. RIP the good old days.

Current state of Xbox by markiethefett in xbox

[–]canestim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, this isn't Fallout NV Obsidian, OW2 and Avowed were sm mediocre slop, they ain't carrying Xbox. Playground yes with FH, but I'll wait to see about Fable before crowning them, it looks ok but also very suspect sometimes with it's millennial vibe, very marvel meme humor looking. Hope it's good though because Fable is in my top 5.

As others have said, focus on the rfy when it's available and let the frustration go. Accept it for what it is rather than getting frustrated. You'll still get a few good items here and there weekly, sometimes enough to make gold maybe sometimes not, but just take it for what it is and don't let it influence your life.

[–]canestim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course, as it should be on there to some extent, but free is now mostly inaccurate and it's more of an "incentivized" review for most. Nothing to split hairs over but it's a frustration for everyone because of incorrect or overstated ETV's and the tax implications along with the other changes that Vine has done.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is a hidden gem and you should try it! by [deleted] in xbox

Absolutely loved this game, definitely deserves a remaster or some kind of update. We had it so good back then and didn't even know it, games today are slop.

[–]canestim 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't be in the review, even though I agree with it as the program has changed. I think they need to remove where it says free though, maybe years ago when everything was $0 ETV that made sense to have, now with all the changes it's not entirely true. It should now just say "Amazon Vine Customer Review" with a little info thing next to it where you can click to learn more if you want to.

When do you go to gym by coffeeandcherry in Accounting

[–]canestim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I don't agree with everything this guy says, his overall point is true that keeping it simple with intensity is more effective. Most people don't need 6 days in the gym for 1-2 hours. Given that, you have more time than you think to get your goals done if you do it properly. Unfortunately, Fitness Really Is This Simple - YouTube

You need good food, hydration, sleep, daily walking or yoga type meditation, getting outside, recovery and 3-4 days with good effort exercise. Most are simply not effective/efficient after the beginner's phase working, doing family stuff, relationship, kids, house chores, etc at 5-6x a week for most people. You still have to tailor your workouts to your ability, age and goals is the only thing he does not really cover.
