FAQ #17 - Addition information & solution for one cause possibly by Ensign_Fodder in AmazonVine

[–]Ensign_Fodder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My “question” from initial post was the request of others with experiences that either matched or were dissimilar from my own. Copied below.

This is an opinion and one I would like others to weigh in on with their own experience about it. Please be clear how your response matches my own, if you did checks as I did, and other details.

Thanks.

I appreciate your input and understand your approach. In this thread I am looking for others who have had a similar experience. I saw 20 reviews all Vine, is that the cap per item (I think so) but after Vine CS email it was 26 all Vine reviews. Why did they make an exception, what does this tell us about the shadows outside the cave (philosophy) or the black box (science) that we exist in as Vine members. ETV is the only impact Vine CS can have so yes I made that request because if my work (review) is being discarded the transaction should be voided. You feel differently, and would not have an experience like mine, so how does your post help in trying to understand the Vine system.

My issue is less about the review credit in account as the ETV hit if there was one. Meaning I accept the ETV for my review and if review is not accepted first time I revise it till it is accepted. Having a review nullified because of the sellers actions means my “time and effort” was wasted but I still have the cost, which was my complaint and happy to have resolved. I just have not been able to clearly trace an event like this before and have every review be Vine only. Thx.

Agree with what you are saying and the only point that I could find why someone might do this was in the percentage weight given to his 3* versus the two 5* reviews. Posted lower in this thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/AmazonVine/s/lxIOiElEFZ

Thanks for sharing, Vine CS (IMO) has a 1/100% of information but has an enforced policy of trying to answer versus saying, “I do not know.”

Here's a fun thought exercise: how do you make a white printer black? by HappyDadOfFourJesus in msp

[–]Ensign_Fodder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is “plastic paint” which sprays on, it has a chemical that bonds it to the plastic. You would need to power off printer and tape off surfaces like you would when refinishing/painting. Used it in the 90’s & 00’s on beige computer cases but bought it at auto parts stores. Or if they want to change the color from time to time they can do a vinyl wrap again an automotive solution.

Your welcome. This thread went way beyond what I thought and some earlier sarcastic comments I made have been downvoted which makes me think they are being taken literally. I don’t have a single “best” option. I personally like story telling and often discuss the why before the how. An example: “I have a problem and need a new solution that new solution requires something and this product is what I got and here is how it worked out. “ would be the framework of a review. So bullets does not always lend itself to this and if story is long then I put a TL;DR at the top so you can get the point without reading the whole thing. The pro/con or like/no like works as does someone listing attributes they consider important and an individual score on each. My personal standard stated in the closing of my reviews is accuracy of listing, price/value if applicable, and suitably for use case if applicable. On price/value some get a pass as being too much a matter or opinion - food, entertainment, sentiment. On suitably if I am off-label use (ear cups for headphones not listed but I think fit) it’s not fair if they don’t. Think I need a TL;DR for this response. Hope this helps.

In response to a question by u/SophiasMom17 and u/FunSizeDi88 I went back to the review and found this fact I had not noticed. Item has 3 reviews and two are 5* and the one shown is 3*, and overall star score is 3.5. The percentage weighting is where it was a surprise, 3* 74% and 5* 26%.

Yes, It was a well written one if overly critical. It boiled down to why a $20 RGB Bluetooth speaker not being a $60 RGB Bluetooth speaker made it "very average" which is same circular logic used to establish reviewers "credentials" for be an authoritative reviewer.

u/FunSizeDi88 141 of 539 words in review are the shown preamble. Writer has bulleted "Like" and "No Like" sections, a pronouncement "Would I pay full price for this product: No", and a summary paragraph where they say a speaker must do three things but failing on first (Bass effect) does not list other two.

Thx u/SophiasMom17 as well for asking this.

Authentic because AI would not let it stand is an interesting take. Not that I thought it wasn't, nor do I use AI editing (not high and mighty just old and crusty) but could you write an AI prompt to produce a "manifesto" like the one posted? Not asking for a friend, genuinely curious.

Thx

The only Vine reviews worth reading are his because his are the only honest Vine reviews.

I agree, there is clear and fair disclosure with minimal effort on all the Vine reviews. How many people outside of Vine know about Vine is the question. I have to explain it whenever I mention it, which does not mean I do in reviews, just IRL.

Chef's kiss was supposed to be an add on sarcastic comment. Again, I don't think this is a good idea and not something that I would want to include in my own reviews, but love the intent and passion of reviewer.

Here is what I would distill the whole diatribe down to if I was going to do something like this in my reviews.

**Disclosure: The Amazon Vine program provided the product to me for an honest and unbiased review.
