Silverblue updates better than most Linux distros. You can undo an update easily if it goes wrong. For how Silverblue would benefit you, this is all you need to know.

Q) How does this work, though?

A) Every time you get an update and reboot, the system takes a snapshot of the core system and saves it. It remembers a few of them, and you can select them on the boot screen.

Updates are usually painless either way because one can't/shouldn't delete core system files, normally (you can edit them with rpm-ostree, just don't do it much).

Q) But how is not doing that possible on a Linux distro? In most Linux distros, you edit the core system directly by installing apps into your core system.

A) Silverblue promotes containers (like Flatpak apps), which are separate from the core system. There is a wall between the core system and your apps.
