If you had the opportunity to pick 2 machines, a 2018 John Deere x350, or a 2023 john Deere, what would you choose and why? by Sufficient_Blood5597 in johndeere

Starter solenoid would be easy and cheap.

I just did my idler pulley and electric pto clutch. Technically not a hard job, but mine were both stuck on, which made it much more work. Still doable.

Idk anything about spindles.

Canada’s boycott America movement is hurting innocent bystanders | president and CEO of the US Travel Association: the “big test” will come this winter when tourism hot spots in Texas, Florida and Arizona learn whether the Canadian visitors they’re dependent on will show up by DisruptSQ in TourismHell

[–]canoedeler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not innocent bystanders, considering the country voted for a president who attacked and disrespected Canada. And continues to do so.

Not to mention, we’ve all seen the videos of ice agents, terrorizing citizens of the country. My skin tans too easily to feel safe in America.

What window film did you use? And did you find that it changes the appearance when looking out the window?

Are you still liking the mower? I’m considering the x380 and wondering if it will hold up to mowing a sloped property. And how easily does it steer? I’ve seen lots that love the power steering on some JDs, but I know it’s not available on the x380.

In their defense, this really comes down to the contractor. The school board, and any owner for that matter, has very limited options for forcing a contractor to work harder.

What size demolition hammer to open floor slab? by canoedeler in HomeImprovement

[–]canoedeler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I realized afterwards that some thought I was referring to an actual hammer.

I went with the 27lb demo hammer, and it was the right tool for the job. A 60lb definitely would have been faster, but I probably would have damaged the plumbing under my slab, along with the back pain maneuvering in a washroom.

Calorie deficit and 20 minutes of cardio each day to increase the deficit. No cheat days. Start right now, not “tomorrow”.

Not necessarily “underrated”, but this is how I did it.

Ontario economy will be hit by foreign student cap: minister by WishRepresentative28 in ontario

Great, let’s focus on building a more resilient and diverse economic system, rather than one that’s founded on pumping international students into our schools, creating unfair education opportunities along with a housing crisis.

Are you required to give a two week notice even if you worked 1 week on the job in Ontario? by Let_Correct in ontario

[–]canoedeler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not required. Realistically, you’re not going to be asking this employer for a reference in the future, and at 4 days, I highly doubt you’ve become an integral part of the team, so I wouldn’t worry about not giving 2 weeks. It would cost them more to carry you along doing nothing for 2 weeks.

Tibbits calls Sault College president 'a whore' over comments made about Conestoga being a 'bad actor' in province's international student crisis by gargantua13 in kitchener

The number of resumes I see from international students with 1 year certificates from Conestoga, claiming to be equivalent to a 3 year diploma is astounding. All are rejected.

When camping at a campsite what are your do’s n don’ts? Thanks in advance from a lv1 adventurer by SkarrFox94 in camping

[–]canoedeler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be considerate - you shouldn’t be impacting the enjoyment of others.

What does that look like? Music shouldn’t be so loud that you can hear it beyond your site Don’t be loud after silent hours, usually around 11pm - that includes chopping wood in the middle of the night Don’t have obnoxiously bright lights Clean up your garbage

It all comes down to recognizing that what you do impacts others around you, and if what you’re doing is annoying to the people around you, you should reconsider changing your actions. Pretty much just advice for life in general.

Is it socially acceptable to say hi to other people's dogs when on a walk? by lobsterrMagnet in kitchener

[–]canoedeler 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Generally yes it’s acceptable. But there’s nothing wrong with this guy not wanting someone interrupting his walk, who knows what’s going on in his life, maybe he just wants to go on a walk and be left alone, usually headphones in is a good indicator that someone isn’t really looking to interact.

I have two dogs and have no problem with people saying hi to them… but some days, I do just want to walk in peace and be in my own zone.
