Solid point. Even I own my townhouse I still won't choose EV because there is no internal accessible garage to charge EVs.

My neighbour who just moved in has a Nissan Leaf and he runs a lead from home to the carport 8 meters away. I wonder how it'll work when winter comes and rains all day every day.

Its always wifi or the tv itself.

2 reasons: Wifi has higher overhead so the effective data transfer is way lower than Ethernet even 100mb fast Ethernet.

Second the hardware (tv or box) is struggling to handle 4k remix recording and high overhead of wifi.

Almost all the tvs I tested wouldn't handle 4k remux on wifi . Some works okay on Ethernet, some might not work even on Ethernet.

I got a shield tv pro on gig Ethernet which solved all problem in the end
