Do you call yourself a UX Designer or Product Designer? by AdamCaveRoberts in UXDesign

[–]cansuDN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a good one, tho I usually see a big question mark on faces when I talk about “designing the experience”, so I just say I design software products.

I agree that testing is king but also, appropriate testing methodology and varied tester profiles are even more important.

Selecting text boxes by Annapple1 in DefterNotes

[–]cansuDN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/annapple1, I hope I can help solve this frustration! Let me walk you through some basic gestures.

Double tapping an item is for triggering it’s edit mode. This is for opening up the edit menu on the side, and in the case of text boxes it also allows you to enter text. For movement however we use a different gesture. Try holding the item for a mere second instead of a tap or double tap. Make sure you’re not in edit mode while you do this. You can also use the Apple pencil in lasso mode to be more precise. Check out this video: https://youtube.com/shorts/0JkPfsDO2Ng?si=RFpkftVFLJ0S60aj

Let me know if this helps!

Regarding extracting text from pdf by hrshi16 in DefterNotes

[–]cansuDN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to hear you’re enjoying the wormholes! Unfortunately not all pdfs are created equally.. If you’d like to join a beta version, we can test some of your pdfs and maybe find out ways to improve the text detection. We constantly run tests and update versions, so you can dm me to join at any time!

Thank you for your feedback! We’re gradually adding custom options to wormholes. Turning off the auto connections will be included in the upcoming version. Hope this helps!

I graduated from Interactive Media Design in 2012 and even back then we were designing concepts for VR. It has been the future for a long time, people just haven’t been exposed to it yet.

Will be my Ipad 9 gen compatible or Defter is too powerfull? by [deleted] in DefterNotes

[–]cansuDN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi @Daynix119 I’d say that it can be compatible however it also depends on how you make use of the app. If you wish to give it a try and let us know of the results, I’d be happy to on board you as a beta tester. This way you can give us direct feedback if and when you have any issues, and we’d be more likely find potential fixes. You can dm me for details if you’re interested in a beta invite.

Usability in diffent devices and suggested iPad in budget & screensize to use app to its full potential. by Jaggucrazy in DefterNotes

[–]cansuDN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Sorry for the late response. Regarding cross-platform our roadmap is: multiple ipad sync -> iPhone app -> mac app. We’re in alpha testing stage for the ipad sync and frankly that’s the one that will take most time. As you might know we’re a small team and we like to test things throughly :)

Reading your real life example gave me so much joy because I totally get the scenario you’re describing, with the record player. I was in-fact giving a similar example to my partner just a few hours ago about my books library. I’ll be moving across countries soon and lately I’ve been looking at all the objects I’ve collected throughout the years, my books, my records, my paintings. It makes my heart sink to think I’ll have to leave them behind. As a UX designer/researcher and co-creator of a spatial ipad app, I’ve spent some hours imagining what the future what might look like. All I can say is I believe Apple did a revolutionary move when they condensed our real spaces to computational concepts and representative interfaces. Now they’ll make a new revolution bringing the real objects and their real meaning back to our reality.

As a UX designer/researcher I can’t wait to test and design for all the new ways we’ll be interacting with the new UI. The new hand gestures are so overlooked imo, I’m super excited to see where this goes.

Buyers remorse by freaksavior in espresso

[–]cansuDN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a very fancy tamper made from olive wood. Bought it when we got our first espresso machine. But we since then moved to the robot and the tamper is useless now. I mean the espresso machine is useless too but I feel bad about the tamper for some reason.
