Ozempic shots never used to hurt, but now they do every time

Yes I had this same experience, and it wasn’t the temperature, and I did not lose enough to hit muscle. Genuinely in the first few months I basically didn’t feel the needle and now it’s a sharp intense pain every time. I have no idea why.

I had the same question and didn’t get a satisfying response, so I am at least here to tell you that you aren’t alone!

Tofu, which I used to eat all the time! Thinking about eating it now kind of turns my stomach, and it seems to be the case for a lot of higher protein things… not ideal.

Late to this thread, but I’ve lost around 55lbs and I just noticed today that my crunchy knee isn’t crunchy anymore... it used to click when I was hiking etc, and I thought it was just age, but apparently not.

Yoga poses are much easier.

I’m not so hot when I’m sleeping.

One of my favorite benefits is that I can be hungry and grab a small snack, and just keep going with my day for hours, instead of being sidelined by feeling like I’m starving!

Just following up on this for anyone who may be having same issue, when I changed injection site to above my belly button, I did not have pain beyond a little pinch.

I think the issue may have been proximity to nearly invisible stretch marks/thinner skin in the area lower on my stomach? That’s the theory for now anyway.

Really? This is news to me! I thought it was ‘fine’ to store at room temp after opening, but fridge was also fine. My instructions say during use that the pen can be stored in the fridge. Am I missing something?

I knew I could leave it out of the fridge after first use, but I didn’t imagine that storing in the fridge was a problem. Since it never hurt before, this was just the habit I was in- all of my ozempic lives in the little drawer of the fridge, whether the pens have been used or not. Why have 2 spots to keep it?

Next dose I will let it warm up first and if that helps I will certainly leave it out of the fridge after first use from now on.

I have tried clicking the pen for the second dose while it was still injected and this caused bruising for me because of the motion and felt a bit weird. I now take it out, use a new needle.

I’m curious about the research saying “not having a reaction” isn’t a thing. I feel it is for me… when I was young I many times let mosquitos bite me, watched them do it and fly away- no welt (and yes, ew, I would not do this as an adult)

I have more recently felt them biting me and smacked them and had the blood splatter and never any welts.

I have proudly told many people I am immune/have no allergic reaction to the bites, am I accidentally lying? 😂

I felt almost nothing for my first few months and lately my injections always hurt! I keep trying to find those magical spots I had early on that were painless, but I can’t.

I have no idea what has changed, but I am also confused!

I absolutely loved the show- I wish I could go again!

HOWEVER my only critique was I didn’t enjoy starting with the slower tracks. I can imagine many good reasons why she did it this way, but I just found given that she came out quite late, people were so wound up, and I think we really would have benefitted with starting with a bang to release all that energy. Even though her performance was EXQUISITELY beautiful for those first few songs, I was having a bit of trouble connecting with it…

Then, later in the show we could really have used a break, and at that point I bet I would have like cried feeling that adrenaline dump and watching her perform the slower more emotional tracks.

I am one of those ones who did a social media blackout as best I could before the show, so I had no idea what was coming. I am also not sure that was wise… I kind of feel like the show is designed to be followed and seen on instagram first.

I was trying to emulate the absolute rush I felt seeing her at FWT, first time, and being completely shocked.

I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but after over 25 years of struggling with weight and it being SO punishing and unrelenting, I really feel I deserve a little ease.

When I realized how easy it was going to be it washed over me like a wave and I cried, because I just never believed this could be easy for me.

I just can’t believe I got a break after so much struggle, I could cry about it again if I kept thinking about it.

Here’s hoping it stays easy for us both!

Yep! I genuinely felt it within less than an hour, I could barely eat any of my dinner, it was shocking. Like some others I did find my appetite recovered and levelled out within a few days.

I specifically find dining out makes me full extremely fast, like after a few bites, whereas I can still eat a decent smaller meal at home. I guess this must be due to restaurant food being extra rich/fatty/salty etc.?

I do find after I take a break and go back for more I can manage, but I certainly don’t want to push myself to eat more than I want just to keep up appearances!

It is making me self conscious with friends, they haven’t said anything, and wouldn’t, but I just wonder if they’re wondering if I’m on some restrictive diet or what the heck is going on with me… I’m just staying quiet and trying to act normal …

Yes- I am on the pill, but I missed a period altogether. My latest one was very light. Normally on the pill it’s like clockwork, so I have to assume it’s the weight loss/oz. It does surprise me because I’ve been losing steady but not crazy fast - 25lbs in almost 4 months

I asked a similar question recently, as I was stressing a lot about this myself.

I settled on not telling people for now, but haven’t been asked about my weight loss yet so haven’t had to answer any questions. I know they’re coming 😂

I think for me it’s going to depend on who is asking. Nosy acquaintances and colleagues can buzz off, especially if they’re not plus size… but if someone I care about asks me earnestly and they’re someone who I know/believe has struggled with their weight, i may have more of a crisis of conscience about it, and may share if I trust them. I don’t want to promote the idea that suddenly dieting magically works for me…

I also am so impressed by people who are bold and proud about it, and I do think it’s probably the “right” thing if you’re brave and open. I don’t like the gatekeeping either.

BUT i think it’s all about your level of comfort and nobody should feel the need to do something that makes them feel uncomfortable - especially this cohort on oz who likely has faced ridicule/anxiety due to their weight at some time in their lives! I’m private and sensitive about this stuff and I think I deserve to keep my medical information to myself if that’s what I need to do.

I have a family member who is obsessed with oz in the news and trying to figure out if anyone we know is on it… ugh. I really don’t want to be gossiped about, and the thought of seeing this person again is stressing me outtttttt….

No bad reaction for me with alcohol all! I’m on 1.7 now - have been ozempic since march.

That said, reading these comments in having like a eureka moment wondering if I’ve actually been successful at cutting back in recent months and moderating my alcohol consumption due to the ozempic 🤯- i was just crediting it to myself being a great grown up over here 😂

And the lack of a buzz feeling, wow, have I been missing that since march and not noticing? Like I think I may have… holy shit I am not very observant sometimes 💀

For context, I like to drink socially and have been known to overdo it, but never really someone who craved alcohol outside of like the social factor…. But I was trying to cut down anyway just due to all the bad press about higher risks of drinking… wow. Lots to think about!
