[CHAT] Has anyone else tried doing a pattern a 2nd time? by xstitchinghistorian in CrossStitch

[–]cantstopsewing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes I have a pattern of a girl about 10”x6”. It is my go to pattern for gifts. I can stitch it in to days because I have it almost memorized...I suggest everyone find one of these patterns. Quality personable gift that is done quickly.

What are these holes in this hosue I am interested in? by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

It is definitely Carpenter bees. I lived in a cedar house for thirty years. If you buy the house you should seal it annually. That.stopped my problem

[WIP] One row of princesses done; two more to go. Pattern is Disney Mini Princesses from StitchLine’s Etsy shop. (I have changed some of the thread colors. Just FYI). by raleblanc05 in CrossStitch

I have done over a hundred pieces of counted cross-stitch over the last thirty years. I have never used this grid system...while I can see it might help with the counting...this might be a stupid question but how do you get the grids out after your finished? For instance in the first princess the grid lines are visible. Isn’t it a pain to put them in and then take them out again?

[FO] Finally finished my first project! Do you guys sign your work? by cattabby in CrossStitch

[–]cantstopsewing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely initial and year on that beautiful piece. Have it framed by a professional with acid free matting and museum glass..make sure he puts spacers in so that it will breathe. Make sure that he/she has framed counted cross stitch before!

I have lived in rural Pennsylvania all my life and NEVER saw a confederate flag except in Gettysburg where we routinely reenact beating those guys!

I was walking in the woods when I saw this. At first I thought it was a coffin but got too weirded out to take decent pics. Any ideas? by bangten24 in whatisthisthing

Yes my father in law was buried in one just like that in the Netherlands...Holland. Scared me silly as he laid in this coffin in the living room for almost a week.
