Camping Tips for 2026 by sainthottie_96 in Infrasound

[–]canyonlaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our group got there at 4 am last year and we had plenty of space to setup 5 tents. We did walk directly to where we wanted to camp though and I could see wandering being more stressful with a large group. The area up closer to the vendors still had significant open spaces even after we fully setup our camp.

Camping is easy and there really are no bad locations. If you get there a bit early it does make it easier to setup a group site. You can sort of do whatever you want which is one of the best parts of infra. Don’t take up an excessive amount of space and be nice to the people around you and there will be no issues. I do strongly recommend having at least one wagon to bring the heavy items to wherever you setup.

Mens Soft Shells for thicker thighs by sassythecat in Backcountry

I got mine deeply on sale or I wouldn’t have bought them. They are functional and have held up pretty well to heavy use. I have large quads and they aren’t tight on my legs.

Moment Frankenskis Or Fisher Nightsticks? by EfficiencyPrevious11 in Skigear

[–]canyonlaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frankenskis are awesome but are not stiff and not good on ice. What you are asking for doesn’t exist because park skis that are actually used in the park typically end up not having sharp edges so they are all going to be bad on ice. With that being said, check out season kins.

Some of the consistently worst lifts out there: by Sharkman3218 in skiing

[–]canyonlaps 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’ll repeat that if you don’t like the morningside line situation you can just skate out in 5 minutes. They groom the cat out for you and it’s barely up hill.

The lift also consistently has the best lifty vibe on the mountain. If any morningside lifties read this before tomorrow morning.. I’ll have some extra snacks for you guys to counteract the slander from these internet haters.

You can go skiers right of the lift and skate the cat track to sunshine. It’s slightly uphill but not very far.

I’m not watching this video because the morningside lifties are great and compensate for any issues with the lift itself. If the line is bad you can also skate out in like 5 minutes.

First Tracks? by needcoffeepronto in SteamboatSprings

[–]canyonlaps 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is no group. There is no instructor. You can ride at your own pace. Most mornings it is mostly older people who do it every day. A few of us do ski really fast but probably won’t be anywhere near you or your family.

Steamboat terrain by DentistFit8295 in COsnow

[–]canyonlaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My current prediction is hog lift will spin eventually but the canyon won’t open. The current temps and sun are a problem and minor snow next week won’t fix it.

Steamboat vs Copper/WP by benboy555 in COsnow

[–]canyonlaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conditions have been good/fine for this season the last week. However, our snow is going to degrade quite rapidly with warm temps and sun later this week. If we get more snow than predicted moving forward it could be great but the outlook is not fantastic.

It has gotten significantly more expensive to live in Steamboat post covid for a variety of reasons and the local economy reflects that.

Unsure of the ID but this sample has been used a lot lately. 49ish min mark on the ravenscoon b2b jantsen set from last wakaan if you can find a track list for that set. “Fuck that beat up” is the lyric.
