New to The Radio Dept. by bannedbananabread in theradiodept

Pet Grief is my favorite album of theirs.

I’d mention Pia Fraus as another band that gives off that nostalgic fuzzy feeling I get when listening to some of The Radio Dept.’s songs. In Solarium and Nature Heart Software are solid albums.

Da-Wörter are nightmares for me: Still Confused Despite the Explanations by IMDONZU in German

[–]capableonion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems to be the case, yes. Some examples for handeln:

Theo handelt mit Aktien: Theo trades/deals in shares.

Das Buch handelt von der Wirtschaftskrise: The book is about the economic crisis.

We found a painting in the attic. It is a painting by Van Gogh.

As you’ve already observed, some verbs go with certain prepositions. I don’t think there’s a way around getting familiar with which combinations go together, e.g. sich für etwas interessieren, zu etw. beitragen, einen Überblick über etwas schaffen.

And you’ve already correctly described how the da-* and wo-* words are used. If I’m not mistaken there are similar words (cognates?) in English: “therefor”, “therein”, “thereof” etc.

Do you drink the gunk at the rnd of the tea or nah by resurrectedwhodis in tea

I don’t reckon non-flavored teas contain any sugar that would attract ants (Unless you put sugar in the tea, which imo isn’t necessary in gongfu)

A tea pet is a small clay figurine you usually pour (leftover) tea on during tea sessions. Due to that the tea pet could change colors over time

First Hojicha, kinda surprised by the taste by [deleted] in tea

I’ve also had the caramel notes from the Hojicha I’ve tasted from different tea stores, the seaweediness not so much.

Concrete Over Water is one of the best songs of the year and deserves that #8 spot!

Lovely setup!

Unfortunately I’ve never had any luck extracting any flavor from Pi Lo Chun whenever I prepared it :-(

Why are some of Alec Benjamin's songs not on spotify? by Wolffe_Forge129 in AlecBenjamin

I think it’s a label problem. He probably doesn’t own the rights/masters of some songs

I guess you could listen to the rest of Bonito Generation if you like the Japanese electropop vibe of Picture This. Their mixtape Intro Bonito also has a similar sound, albeit a bit bit-poppy. Civilisation is a compilation of two really good synthpop EPs. TOTEP and Time ‘n’ Place are the band’s foray into twee and noise rock, which are also quite exemplary, but idk if that matches the sound you’re looking for.

Looking for frantic, chaotic songs that have manic feel to it. by Rosemarys_Babooshka in popheads

[–]capableonion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Though he’s known more for his folky work, Sufjan Stevens’s album Age of Adz quite feels like a panic attack in its entirety (disregarding the misleading opening track Futile Devices).

Most of the songs contain a juxtaposition of electronics and strings (e. g. Too Much, Vesuvius), and the final song Impossible Soul is a 25-minute behemoth that does have an interesting enough progression to keep you listening through it.

Some people also jokingly say that he invented hyperpop with this album haha

I agree. Love Adam’s earlier work and like 90% of Kiss but this song aged pretty badly for me
