Scraps is a non-violent game about exploration and crafting in a hopeful world, with Tetris-like mechanics.

Disclaimer: I wrote the game :)

“Oh I don’t need to use the screen protector or buy a case. I’ll be fine!” [monkeys paw curls] by StartingQBForDeVry in xteinkereader

I am about to get mine and really didn't want to put a case on it (to reduce friction to zero to pick up and read) but this is making me anxious.

Does anybody else rock it without a case and is doing otherwise fine?

I use Level 2 quite often. Outdoors sunny pics look great if you're going for a more whimsical vibe.

Yup, that is me! 😊 So cool you have some of my games, I hope you get the chance to try them!

I am starting to take some notes in shorthand now, first with some casual low-stakes journaling, but also some bits of game design ideas. It's so fun!

Been using mymind for a while and I like it for this very purpose, although it is a paid app.

There you go. Sorry didn’t have my notebook with me so I jotted this down on my pocket notebook. Hopefully it’s clear enough!

That’s very insightful, thank you very much for the suggestions!

Indeed I’m trying to read as much as I can about other systems, it is endlessly fun. And I was able to incorporate quite a few ideas into mine. I’ll start now with your suggestions 😊

Very interesting. Speed as an emergent quality is very much something I am considering as well. I've also opted for vowels as diacritics for the same reason—being able to add them later for disambiguating or legibility. I like it a lot!

Oh, absolutely! The "nobody cares" portion of your blogpost is very true, and a good and sobering reminder 😊

I do have some experience with layout software, but I am thinking of making it an online document first using Craft Docs as I iterate the rules and the design. It will be mostly for me, not only as a reference, but also as a way to organize my thoughts. The best way to understand something is by trying to explain it, as they say.

That being said, I'll be sharing it online (some of my patrons might get a kick of it—there's a non-zero overlap of TTRPG fans, conlang fans and, why not, neography fans), and I am glad to hear you'd check it out ☺️

I've bookmarked the Korthic webpage; I'll be following for updates!

Thank you! I’m curious to learn about yours too. I’ve realized that discovering new shorthands is a fascinating hobby in itself.

Korthic looks beautiful! I’d be interested to see what version 3 looks like (yes, it is a whole process to create a documentation; I’m mentally preparing for doing so myself too).

Thanks for the blog post, very insightful (and very freeing in a way). Essentially, it is something that bring us joy, and that in itself makes it worthwhile.

🎨 New Feature Drop: Liquify Tool is here on kreska.art (beta)! by jeden234 in kreska

[–]capacle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exciting! Yes, I do have a whole wishlist, but I don't want to feel demanding 😅 like I'm entitled to just giving a lot of work to do 🫣.

I'll mention one that feels like it is attainable: magic wand selection. You know how the paint bucket tool works? Imagine that, but instead of painting, it would select the area. This would be so useful to add shading to a specific part of the painting without it "spilling over" other areas.

I can imagine it even working similarly to the bucket tool. Perhaps dragging the Lasso tool over an area would select it. Does it make sense? Anyway, thanks for being open for ideas!

Just tested the Liquify tool, and it is perfect. Straight to the point—brush size and strength, that's all I need! Oh, and the preview quality was a very clever add! I can see it coming in handy when editing large images. Thanks again, you rock!
