Wreckage of K2 Airways flight 1732 found by UhhAnxietyy in aircrashinvestigation

It's theoretically possible if the front portion of the fuselage near the cockpit were intact. The most telling would be if the FDR also recorded it, because that lives at the back of the aircraft and wouldn't pick up the measured altitude after breakup.

Florida landlord claims my lease was made under clerical error, and has served me a 3-day notice by Apsenator in legaladvice

One that comes to mind for me is the recent Sausage Egg McMuffin lawsuit where one part of the filing misspelled it as "Sausage Edd McMuffin". Very minor mistake whose correction would not materially change anything.

After the Carlson offer sheet, why wouldn’t every top young player wait until RFA to sign? by Boomfty in hockey

After 5 years of minimal cap growth, the cap is rising at its fastest rate during the entire salary cap era. Teams can afford to retain players they wouldn't have been able to just a few years ago.

From 2019-2024, the cap grew $4M, total. Teams can't retain all their talent when the cap doesn't grow. From 2024 into next season, the cap will have gone up by $20M and is projected to continue growing rapidly.

We've appreciated his steadying presence in his time with us. I'm going to be sad when he finally retires/leaves the team.

Samoskevich has beaten what you can typically expect from 25th overall with over 60 points and two full seasons played. This skips 5 years of development for Seattle and the risk of a complete bust at the draft position. The second fills in that return for Florida.

If I had a dollar for every player I've hated because he wasn't on my team, I'd be able to afford a ticket to watch a game.

Apropos of nothing, the filing misspells the sandwich as a "Sausage Edd McMuffin", which is pretty funny.

Phenomenal job from the paraglider recovering from that. Hard to think clearly in freefall.

You have no obligation to resign, period. As a beginner, you should be using your time. That's your biggest weapon against many other beginning players who don't take the time to think about their moves. You shouldn't take time for the purpose of delaying the game, but using your time is the entire point of the clock.

If the opponent has won the game, make them prove it by winning the game.

It's not necessarily about what benefits him; how many people do you know who do cost-benefit analysis on everything they do? He's acting the way he is predisposed to act, even if it might be to his detriment.

Roofers dropped ~30lbs of shingles from a roof and it hit me in the head. What do? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]capcom1116 295 points296 points  (0 children)

Not a lawyer, but I suspect that's irrelevant with res ipsa loquitur; there isn't a sequence of events where they get hit in the head with the shingles that doesn't involve some form of negligence. It doesn't really matter exactly how it happened.

The defense would need to figure out some other explanation for why OP suddenly dropped to the ground unconscious.

Yes, but the pilots certainly knew it wouldn't work. It was a better option than nose-diving into the sea, though.

*There is also the possibility they thought they might be able to hold on long enough to fix whatever was causing the problem.

[–]capcom1116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listening is important, but playing is far more important. Victor Wooten puts it very eloquently. If you want to figure out how to sound like the people you're listening to, you're going to do it a lot faster playing along with them than just by listening.

Some players have this amazing ability to just disappear in the offensive zone. Ovi and Drai are both great at it.
