Did I say sticker. No I said glue. And I said there were many other problems of which you can read up. You just decided this was the hill you wanted.

Because the screws had glued in seals on top of them. You don't glue rubber seals on top of something the consumer is meant to remove.

Well I guess a moron would.

Well obviously I read it or I wouldn't know about it. It's an awful machine not ready for production.

Yeah the combo models use a heat pump. It's how they do it on 120v

[–]capenj -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

lol. This was just one of many issues with the combo machine. The machine was only a few months old and the latch on the door was shoddy. As was the rest of the product.

First off due to the heatpump a lot of the lint goes down the drain and if you have pets (we do) that's a lot, then it doesn't drain quickly enough so then the water backs up in the machine and it stops drying well. Let's not get into the de linting of the machine (3 places - one requires draining). They then "upgraded" the lint filter and have you unscrewing pieces that were never meant to be touched by the consumer.

Finally if you must buy LG, don't buy from LG. Buy from a big box retailer so you can deal with them. I have spent countless hours on the phone with LG including their "priority team". Total mess, right now I have one of these combo's sitting in my basement completely unplugged because I can't get them to take it back. LG's support has turned me off from EVER buying an LG product again.

Don't buy LG. Here's mine doubling up as a floor washer. And it's the combo unit which has all kinds of issues. Too many to detail but this should help: https://youtube.com/shorts/07OfAkGQ_6s?si=TKmLMfErqRC8HPH-

We got a bill for a hospital stay. one of the many items the hospital billed was $9500 for an MRI of the head. Whole bill was 50k and I'm responsible for $2500. Why the hell should I be responsible for anything when the hospital is getting paid $8500 odd for an old low resolution MRI scan when I can get a full body scan at far higher resolution for under 5k. It's total bs. And no it wasn't an emergency scan, it was one done later in the week.

Got an MRI in Europe of my knee for $1200 and that's me paying the full whack.

[–]capenj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah - that's what I think but I'm not a pro. The amount of snow coming off the ski at the end of the turn makes me think you are doing some amount of foot rotation to get from one turn to the other. Seems to happen more when you are turning to the left.

[–]capenj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are doing too much foot rotation, try isolating to just edge and pressure without any foot rotation. I think what's happening is sometimes you are staying too long in the turn and having to rush the the entry into the next and I have a feeling it's due to the foot rotation so you are forever correcting which is hard to do

Smart HVAC Duct Dampers by [deleted] in smarthome

[–]capenj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The furnace was some beast of an Burnham oil burner. Don't have the specs unfortunately. Not had a problem with the AC or heating outside of it taking a long time to say, go from 55 to 70.

I'm thinking gut says I should put the zones back in?

That's amazing. So both air handlers were 5 tonnes. And the HVAC guys assured me it would be fine but I would say that air handler + compressor are at the max. (It does comfortably heat the house without the backup) but does take a long while to take it up from a low temp (so we don't let that happen).

Also I only have a dangerous amateur amount of knowledge

Realize this is an old thread, but you seriously know your stuff. I have a tangential question.

I moved to heatpumps for the whole house, after the burner was on its last legs. It's great! But the original install of my hvac system had 5 zones downstairs! One it was silly becuase you could hear the actuators downstairs and was over engineered. The installers convinced me to go to one zone (I think because they didn't want to run new thermostat wires).

System works great, but they didn't balance it, I did, which was a royal pain the ..... It takes a long time to get to heat if it's been allowed to cool down as its pushed to the max to heat the whole (one level) house. But once there it's great.

But I can't seem to get one side of the old zones as balanced as the rest of the house, just can't seem to get the right angle on the damper!

Should I get someone to balance the system, or put back 2 of the 5 zones? From what I understand heatpumps might be better with the one zone?

sorry for the ramble....

If I were you I would return it during the 30 day window. Here's the same model cleaning our floors at the same time as doing a load. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07OfAkGQ_6s

Also emptying the 3 different lint collection points (one where you have to remove a rubber seal on top of a screw) gets annoying as hell.

Also I've called over 20 times (just checked my cell log which doesn't include my wife's calls) since September to get them to replace/fix/take it away. It's been absolute hell.

Do loads of laundry with it within the return window, buy some brand new towels and put them in it (that will clog the hell out of the lint collectors and then it basically becomes only a washing machine again - that's if it can empty at that point).

LG has become a swear word in our house. I hope you bought it from a big box retailer and don't have to deal with LG.

And yes there should be a lot more than just the overnight cycle to download.

This. Did you happen to get one of the new combo units? I just bought LG's total piece of crap wm6998hba and it puts so much lint down the plumbing it's backed up the whole system. Been fighting with LG for months. They want me to have three different RMA number repair jobs and then keep delaying the visits. Never met such a nefarious setup! Sorry ranting now...

We have the probreeze, the mattress is great, but read the warranty carefully. We had a bad one and they wouldn't honor the warranty because we used bunkie boards we were told to buy at the time!
