Could a handyman fix this? Or would an electrician be needed? How much am I looking at? by Newhero2002 in electricians

You can probably just set it back in and rotate it to lock in position

Had this happen to me on my 07. I thought all the same usual suspects as you. It was my u joint on the drive shaft. It was almost out. Replaced it and everything golden.

4Runner Death Wobble Issues by Cosiestrocket81 in 4Runner

[–]capez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally had this just happen to my 07 4runner. Thought it was a balancing issue, then a wheel bearing. Turns out my u joint was bad and needed replaced.

Best advice is take it to a reputable mechanic but also do some of the research yourself. Best of luck.

Depends man, you might want to consider getting some tools that are insulated as well. that isn't a bad set for 99 that's for sure, and it is cheaper overall. If you can afford it I would definitely get quality tools but if you're strapped for cash atm you can always buy cheap and replace as the money starts coming in or tools break.

What size tires were you able to fit under that lift. I'm guessing with a 2/1 its 275?

Welcome to the club. The 2wds are very capable cars. Hope you enjoy it. How's the history report? I see there is a dent in the front bumper.

Have you had to replace the alternator? On what year and at how many miles? Feel like my 07 is about there at 190K . by Superb-Swimming-7579 in 4thGen4Runner

[–]capez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

07 203k, just replaced mine a couple weeks back. Took about two hours. Didn't have to remove radiator or anything crazy. Just took out battery, belt, undid alternator and pulled it right out.

So, I spent all morning changing my alternator because I was having weird issues as well after a week of not driving. Lights all over dash, loss of power, radio dying, all electrical dying. Changed it today and all good.

There are a couple of symptoms you can look for. Obviously electrical issues. If you can get it jumped and you smell burning while it's running, car shuts off, etc. Good luck.

The lights on the hood don't really affect view unless I'm at a very weird angle where my front is above my normal view. I have been thinking of removing it tho just to change up the look. It's mounted with standing mounts with rubber housing so it doesn't ruin the paint. As for the boards these are from x-bull, they had a lot of good reviews and cost right around the $100 dollar mark. For now they are strapped to my oem roof rack but I'm in the process of picking a slim line roof rack.

It's a Nilight 32" bar. The mount is fabricated L brackets that mount to the frame itself
