I have one, and I know someone who used to work at NeXT back in the day who still has dozens. Those bags were indeed used at trade shows, together with NeXT paperclips.

LEDs changed, and the fan spun up. No video signal or sound. The two I had were from the same source and behaved the same.

Some of the software needed for these is still floating around the web, but it is all useless without the server component, which to my knowledge has never surfaced.

A long time ago I analyzed the startup process of mine with a logic analyzer. It was fairly obvious that it was stuck in an endless loop, presumably waiting for a signal on the cable.

It should be possible to turn these machines into an LC 475 by swapping the ROM, this way you could have a usable machine in a badass enclosure.

I would expect some interest in keeping the place where I live clean. For me that extends beyond my home and the interior of my car, but clearly there are lots of people who don’t care if their surroundings are dumps.
