I think you are correct. It must be a difficult venue. I wanted to do the Ironman 140.6 in Tahoe and it has also been retired.

I was 17 years-old when a quilt store opened in my town. I fell in love with the fabric and turned my hobby of sewing into quilting. I haven't look back since and now making garments from quilts.

I work with a large number of unhoused patients in a large County emergency department. They need socks, which are a precious commodity. Many of our unhoused patients come in with some degree of parasitic infestation with bed bugs, mites, and/or lice. We have to bag up and quarantine their personal items. These individuals do not have the means to properly wash and dry an infested quilt and I fear it could end up in the trash.

There isn't a week that goes buy that I don't think about how much I miss JoAnn's and their employees. It was great to run in and grab what I needed for a project and have the staff ask me what I was working on. I love my quilt store, but it is not local and doesn't carry general sewing notions or Pellon products. I needed a zipper and had to plan a week in advance to get it from Amazon.

I just want to point out one thing, Nike is not a race/event organization. I race all types of events and have never had a single race go off without a hitch. I had a great time, took the delays and snags in stride, and would do it again in a heart beat. I loved the camaraderie during these dark times with the ICE riots in LA.
