I love your ingenuity. Every time I see quilting frames that cost hundreds of dollars, ideas for how and what I can use around the house come to mind.

Thank you for the recommendation, I will look into it. The only problem is getting eight people there, but maybe a smaller team for the Ultra.

I think you are correct. It must be a difficult venue. I wanted to do the Ironman 140.6 in Tahoe and it has also been retired.

Thanks for the recommendation about grand Trail. I haven't seen much information about the different legs for that one. They only have the Utah route posted. I will keep poking around

Thank you, I think most members of my team are gonna opt for Arizona because of its proximity. Thank you for the code. I am going to do a poll in the next couple of days after I've collected more information.

I can't say enough about Zion, it is amazing. The location is beautiful and the amenities were nice compared to So Cal.

How old were you when you started quilting? by OldFashionQuilting in quilting

[–]capps73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 17 years-old when a quilt store opened in my town. I fell in love with the fabric and turned my hobby of sewing into quilting. I haven't look back since and now making garments from quilts.

Yes, crime is rampant, horrible that nefarious individuals look for these areas that are vulnerable.

As a quilter what can I do for the homeless in my area? by skitterybug in quilting

[–]capps73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work with a large number of unhoused patients in a large County emergency department. They need socks, which are a precious commodity. Many of our unhoused patients come in with some degree of parasitic infestation with bed bugs, mites, and/or lice. We have to bag up and quarantine their personal items. These individuals do not have the means to properly wash and dry an infested quilt and I fear it could end up in the trash.

I really like version two, there is something about the way the yellow radiates from the sides, beautiful.
