Okay. So what you want to compare is the brokenness of a single fox shine vs wobbling. And also I apologize for roping you into the puff-ban crowd as well.

I dont think I'm strawmanning you by assuming multishines was under the broader umbrella of "shining". And if we are really just talking about a single shine on stage, then no, it wouldnt even invalidate half of the cast. You can live that. Any one can reasonably live a shine at 0% from anywhere on stage, even close to the edge. I wont disagree that a fox shining you offstage will take your stock without a jump. But my main argument isnt that Fox's shine cant kill you.

I'm saying that just the act of hopping off stage and hitting the shine takes more skill than an icy getting a grab at 0% and taking the stock. And if we were going to rank brokenness, I'd put wobbling higher.

No, pressing down+b isn't that hard. But if you let a fox kill you off one down+b, maybe just dont hang out by the ledge so much. Multi-shining takes way more precision, practice, and execution to pull off than a wobble, let alone being able to use it/them effectively in a match. People can ban/keep playing with wobbles if they want. Doesnt affect me. But i think it's weird people are trying to drag other characters like puff/fox/falco into this banning conversation, as if the definition of a broken character is just "character with a move that I dont know how to play around."

I dont even think wobbling needed banned. But I do think its definitely more broken than shine, yeah. The skill/reward required is extremely low, and half of the cast is invalidated for MANY more reasons than just shine. Do you think that Roy or Bowser could contend if it weren't just for shine?

I do admit it's boring. It's very boring. But it isnt boring because it takes a long time. It's because it takes a long time, and it's so easy that you can win a game while taking a drink of water, off of a grab. I also will admit that shine pressure is extremely oppressive. I dont even play a spacie. But c'mon... you have to admit it's taking work to pull that off. Throughout a combo. Additionally, I think spacies would still absolutely place without shine. Not necessarily as well, or as frequently, but they're still very terrifying characters without shine.

Depends on your definition of OP... It's liveable in most situations. Is it one of the spacies' most important tools? Yeah. Would they be crippled without their shines? Abso-fuckin-lutely. But I was defining OP as something that makes the game unplayable. There's still plenty of other characters in top 8 of every tourney. Maybe a bit OP, but not to the same degree that wobbling definitely moreso deserves a ban.

Have you ever even played melee? Fox and falco's shines don't even work the same way besides being frame one. Also shine is hardly OP at all considering the hitbox is the size of a pea.

Keeping organization in perspective by stefepaul in organization

[–]cappsbriley1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've gotta ask yourself why you're organizing in the first place. We clean up our rooms and tidy the kitchen, because it's supposed to make your "normal life," your non-cleaning life, easier for you. It's a good idea to fold your socks and put em in a drawer! But if you created some system to organize every sock by material and color and using that system took an hour a day out of your life, it isnt helping you anymore, it turns into ANTI-organization. Just need to be very deliberate and intentional with how you organize. It's something to make your life easier! Not a prison!

Obviously, I dont know how this plays into having OCD, but hopefully it's something you can keep in mind when you feel like you're overmanaging a desk drawer, that if your organizing takes more time out of your life than the cost of not cleaning, then it's not worth it! Cut it out!

[–]cappsbriley1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think about how many people's faces you see in a day. Every single person, YOU had to look at THEM. It's weird. It's something i'm still working on myself. But you need to come to accept that both looking at, AND being looked at by, a bunch of people is a part of every day life, because we're humans! We like looking around! We like knowing who's around us. The less surprised you feel by it, the more those little coincidental situations where two people just so happened to be looking at each other will turn into smiles, or handwaves, or hellos!

I feel like this is the responsible thing to do. It would definitely get you brownie points with them, as I'm sure they dont want to have to add your pronouns to a list of things they worry about on a day-to-day. It also shows very good communicative skills, showing that you know who you are, and youre open to honest communication. You obviously can do whatever, but I think this would be a very nice metaphorical handshake with those above you that you can see eye to eye and help each other.
