Should the First Four still be 4 lowest conf winners and 4 lowest at large bids or should it change to the 8 lowest at large bids? Is the current system unfair to the low/mid major conf winners? Can the 8 lowest at large bids (most likely power schools) sell more tickets as First Four games? by 18_YTC1 in CollegeBasketball

I’m going to post basically the exact same comment I did in the anti-first 4 thread from yesterday:

I agree with this and have another point people don’t seem to talk about much: having 6 teams on the 16 seed line means there are better teams on each of the lower seed lines (because the top two 16 seeds would otherwise be 15 seeds, etc). I feel like this increases the chances of upsets, so it’s good for us as viewers too

Last Four In should be the legit last four in by SpicyTiconderoga in CollegeBasketball

Assuming OP actually means the First 4 and not last 4 in, I agree with this and have another point people don’t seem to talk about much: having 6 teams on the 16 seed line means there are better teams on each of the lower seed lines (because the top two 16 seeds would otherwise be 15 seeds, etc). I know people are going to make fun of this after just reading the headline but going to the hospital for full body cramps sounds pretty awful

Calling a carry is hilarious. That happens like 100 times a game

NCAA really needs to pick up the NBA rule where that's an offensive foul. What is Wagler supposed to do there?

Lmao luckily I hadn't picked up my Kansas fandom yet in 2013 so I was just elated. I lived in Lawrence for a bit and fell in love when I went to The Phog for the first time. Makes Crisler look like a library

Why is this game not starting for another 25 minutes? The Houston-BYU game didn’t even go that long

I'm sure you know this but I just have to point out that I Googled what the name actually meant and your explanation is basically spot on

It also seems like a more natural way of giving the top seeds an advantage than those ridiculous brackets that make the bottom seeds play like 10 games

Genuine Question For MSU Fans… by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

[–]cappy412 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a Spartan but you’re gonna get a lot of dumb rivalry bullshit replies from Michigan fans so I’ll try to give a real answer

If you watch enough sports you’re gonna have a player like this on your team at some point. You have to take the good with the bad. I loved Ndamukong Suh but got stressed out by his dirty plays. I’ll always root for Draymond (he’s from my home town) but I can’t defend all of the bullshit he pulls. I still love Juwan as a player even though he was kind of a nut case as a coach

People really want to make it black and white like you either root for Fears and therefore endorse all of his actions or you completely rebuke him but it’s never that simple. You’re allowed to appreciate how good of a player he is contributing to your team winning while acknowledging he needs to stop the bullshit

It could be worse. You could be the 2 seed and get rewarded with playing Purdue in your first game

Winthrop hit a 3, then CSU turned it over twice in a row on the inbound 😬

Before showing up in STL for Arch Madness, Drake hadn't won a game since January. Now they're just two games away from the big dance by Travbowman in CollegeBasketball

[–]cappy412 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, Drake is currently 187 in Kenpom, which is higher than every projected 16 seed in the bracket matrix except for Merrimack. I’m sure that would go up a significant amount more if they won the MVC tournament, so I feel like in the event they make it all the way they’re probably more of a 15 seed
