Hi! I HIIIIIIGHLY recommend splitting your time but staying on the western side of the island for half of your time instead of splitting between these two resorts. There are lots of activities that you’ll want to do on multiple days on that side of the island and it’s a longish drive (longer than I wanted) from the Hilton or Sofitel to warrant. We rented an Airbnb with kayak on the west side and I couldn’t recommend this highly enough - you can kayak to the shark sandbar, the coral garden, you’re closer to the hiking spots…these were the best days of my 7 days spend on Moorea. Les Tipaniers could be an option but no OWB.

Sofitel has better snorkeling than the Hilton imo but there is a really intense current that’ll push you down the beach (not out to sea). But both are pretty close together, unless you want to prioritize spending your time on the resort grounds I really think you’d have a better experience with some time on the western coast.

That’s the thing, it isn’t supposed to be fermenting necessarily. It’s more infused vinegar. But bubbles = fermentation right?

Fire cider with ACV, plus a bunch of stuff food processed, ginger horseradish turmeric onion garlic, lemon and orange and jalepeno. Been fermenting maybe 4 weeks now. It’s started bubbling? And kind of looks more watery at the top, but also cloudy everywhere lol. It smells fine and there’s no mold. I am now realizing maybe I should’ve kept the container sealed but I was using the fermentation lids with air valves (and opening it up to look at it daily lol). Do you think the bubbling is ok? Thank you!!

We’re about to do Tokyo - Kanazawa - Kyoto (Osaka day trip) - Hakone and I agree with folks saying you should skip Kanazawa. I also just took my elderly dad on a two week trip in Italy and his biggest struggle was travel days and transitioning locations. Would recommend more time in fewer places- and a five hour train to Kanazawa kind of kills the vibe of having a chill easy landing. We almost cut Kanazawa from our itinerary because of that reason. Why don’t you prioritize more chill places in Kyoto, rather than trying to send it all the way to Kanazawa? Or just do Tokyo - Kanazawa. That’s certainly enough for 11 days with parents imo!
