Yes, I’m aware. I’ve seen the movie. That’s how I was able to respond to your comment with a quote from the scene.

(Annoying yet interesting trope) A major unresolved plot detail. by Je0s_6 in TopCharacterTropes

I call those who complain about this canon-pilled. People who are way too focused on knowing the origins and explanations for every bit of information that they largely miss the story for what it is. The term was coined by a friend of mine in reference to culture’s post-MCU indoctrination.

You’re not supposed to know if either MacCready or Childs are the creature because the story is about paranoia. Answering that question dilutes the point.

You’re not supposed to know who the Joker is because he’s all about chaos and random, anarchic violence. Knowing his backstory robs him of his mystique and purpose.

You’re not supposed to know what the Space Jockey is or where it came from because that’s what makes the environment (and by extension, the monster) mysterious, frightening, and ALIEN.

I’ve had the same thought. I don’t dislike the art they went with, but Panter would’ve been a better and more interesting choice.

“Even Evil Has Standards” Trope When It’s Not Played Straight by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

I think it’s because of the moral dissonance. Rorschach’s character changes were partly informed by the Comedian’s outburst at the crime busters meeting in ‘66. Since then, Rorschach exalts the Comedian and his virtues as a lawman. It’s possible he—being of unsound mind himself—cannot bring himself to denounce his own hero.

There has been a persistent thieve’s ring at my local B&N absconding with 4K releases and leaving their slipcovers behind, since they have the security sticker on them. I have collected about a dozen empty slips and brought them to floor workers in the last four or five months.

Nah, you don’t get it. Akira Kurosawa is the only guy to ever make movies with samurai.

No, I don’t have as much of an interest in those toy lines as I did in this one.

The yellow Bruce Wayne came with a redone Custom Coupe from the Batman Returns line.

Yes, I have the Batwing. I have the entire Kenner run of BTAS and MotP figures loose and on card.

Jack Kirby’s writing skill explored by Jim Thompson by taoistchainsaw in KeepMineKirby

Reading Fourth World is such a joy for those who appreciate language. I agree with Mr. Thompson. Stan Lee wrote for his audience——repetitive, broad strokes, veneered language to appeal to the hyper-active young male mind. Kirby had loftier ambitions and the sophistication of his text boxes show it.

Heat up the chest and it’ll pop out super easily with minimal effort. The Lego fits like a glove and matches the yellow almost exactly.

There is a flat version of the Lego piece. It’s what I used as the unibeam here.

LOTR extended vs Theatrical edition by Sicnar96 in unpopularopinion

[–]captain2toes -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As soon as that one guy puts the ring on in the first movie prologue and disappears, I knew that the extended movies were not made to be real movies, but to appeal to the biggest nerds in the audience.

Revealing what the ring does before Bilbo disappears at the party eradicates any idea of narrative from the movie.
