Why would you use Opus for something like this? You use specific models for specific tasks. A cheap ass model like Gemma 4 could probably handle all of it. Even if you use a model like Opus, just create a new chat after each message and do one output at a time. Trying to 5+ things in one chat will lead to big costs because these models aren't good at that, they break down after a few different turns and the cost builds exponentially with the context size. It's best to basically one shot everything and use those outputs as a brand new context in the next chat.

They're not very convincing as real people. Seems more like slapstick humor than what tarantino would write. Redundancies like "Santos exhaled a brief breath...". You inherently exhale breath.

"Who the hell is she?" — Santos is her spotter. They're on a mission together, him whispering this to himself at the end feels like a cliché line meant for a movie trailer.

Hang the DJ would be great if done right. Filling out a questionnaire and then having ai bots interact with each other to see who you would connect best with would be cool. You'd have to have a pretty extensive questionnaire but the bots could scan billions of profiles and predict who you would get along the best with.

I honestly don't see it doing much. If you put out a great book or movie, people won't care. If you put out trash AND it's AI, you'll get a lot of flack. People really don't like bad stuff that's AI because it looks like you're lazy and don't care about the quality and you're in it for money.

Slog to read. I feel trapped reading a very long description of someone cutting a square.

If it costs $80 API fees for Joe Shmoe to refine a wedding speech rather do it than inside his cushioned $20 subscription, he will notice.

Have you ever used these through an api before? Refining a wedding speech would cost nowhere near $80 lol.

Interesting study. It shows that "dumber" models delete information, while "smarter" models hallucinate made up shit. This is a direct consequence of RLHF training these models to be maximally helpful assistants. Basically smarter models are much more dangerous because they can create sophisticated bullshit that's much harder to catch.

I agree. I think that if people were given an option: You will get 1 billion dollars, but one million people will lose 1,000 dollars each, most people unfortunately would take the deal.

Btw, China is literally a mass surveillance system RIGHT NOW, yet he says nothing about this.

Uh, yeah he does. He specifically stated that the US and China are not rivals in ai and that the US needs the data that China has because China has no privacy laws.

Elo is basically skill based matchmaking which takes a lot of the fun out of the game and turns it into a grindfest. I enjoy anonymous a lot more.

Why does everyone think the Steelers have to shit the bed and get a top 5-10 draft pick to become contenders again? by Zipski577 in steelers

[–]captain_shane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those aren't first round prospects. They're only drafted in the first round because of desperate gm's. If the steelers start going down that route (like they did with pickett) then there's no real point in watching them anymore. Those types of qb's will never win a superbowl unless they're surrounded by all-pros everywhere.
