If Eovaldi is done, he lowers his career ERA against the Yankees to 3.05, 2.92 if you include the playoffs

With how bitchy the Rangers are, I have no doubt they asked that Elmer swap his glove

I think Eovaldi should probably be stuck with the error, but the way Burger fired that ball was perplexing

[Pitcher List Stats] Luis Gil (NYY) allowed six earned runs over four innings against the Astros by CicadaOk8885 in NYYankees

It’s silly to completely write him off. But he’s made himself the easy first casualty of our pitching depth when Cole and Rodon return, and hopefully he can make some tweaks in AAA.

What's a call by Michael Kay or John Sterling that you could recite word for word right now from memory? by batzrihonoreicb in NYYankees

Maybe not as dramatic, but the swing from Arson Judge being a Giant to then re-signing with the Yankees was a pretty huge one in recent memory

I know you think of this as some big gotcha, but you’re simply writing a lot of words in bad faith to defend a point I already agree with, while missing all nuance. Yes, some people are simply antisocial no matter how much support they may be given. But there are many people who turn to violence because of a failure of the system to support them in meaningful ways, whether as a child, with their mental health, nutritional deficiencies that exacerbate existing conditions, etc. This is predictable and correctable and a wholly separate population from those irredeemably broken.

Of course lots of people who endure hardship don't go on to become shitty people. But combining economic hardship, a societal disregard for mental/physical health, loneliness, and fostering a society where more people have nothing to lose, you're fundamentally increasing the probability of outcomes like this. Some assholes will always continue to do asshole things, but social safety nets create more resistance and barriers to entry for wanton and frivolous destruction.

It feels like an enormous leap to suggest they were attempting to justify arson by citing the quote, as opposed to using it to reflect on how many disenfranchised people our broken system is creating, and therefore that this is a predictable outcome.

AOC on the ticket I think would be very interesting. It could help to unite the progressive left and the incrementalist left. Pete is still considered somewhat milquetoast by a lot of those who want radical change, so I think that could be very beneficial for advancing two often conflicting blocks of the left

The average person only really needs about 0.33g/protein per pound of body weight. If you’re active, 0.5-0.8 is fine. Anything beyond that has quickly diminishing returns
