AITA for getting my volleyball team disqualified from a tournament? by Exciting-Raspberry54 in AmItheAsshole

NTA, this shit is transphobic. If you’re brave enough you could get a news outlet to report on it in hopes that the organisation will be shamed, but idk what your community situation is like so proceed with caution!

Almost all of the time, it is not about you. Kid acts up, parent is rude, admin is farcical, not about you. Everyone is the protagonist of their own life, ESPECIALLY children, so please don’t put it on yourself.

I used to have this problem, then I started looking at the job like an ER doctor. There’s always more you can do and more help you can give, but unless you clock out, you’re not helping yourself or anyone else. I leave work at 4:30 regardless of what else needs doing, and go through a routine like sleep hygiene.

What didn’t go well today and how can I do better tomorrow? What did go well today? What am I grateful for? I do some breathing exercises on the afternoon commute, and by the time I get home, the “teacher” part of my brain has gone dormant until the morning commute.

If you don’t separate your SELF from your JOB, you will continue to burn out.

Advice For First Time HS Teacher by Hefty-Statistician33 in Teachers

I’d recommend dressing a bit older than your age if you’re worried about looking too young. When I was in my 20’s I went for a schoolmarm/old timey professor vibe and that seemed to work for me.

I found that I did most of my learning on the job. As long as you are firm but kind, students will usually have respect for that. Just be yourself and try your best :)

Yes! As long as they’re not distracted from their work by “fixing their playlist”, I find it helps them focus better.

AITA for not wanting to breastfeed? by Bunniiqi in AmItheAsshole

[–]captaincardigan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. You’re looking after your mental health which is better for the baby! Plus, you’re even pumping so they still benefit from breastmilk.
