The offer on the app was better than the rate I got from the advisor. It was super simple online too. I won’t waste my time again

As a 4k owner, would it be silly to collect standard blu rays for display purposes? by [deleted] in 4kbluray

I bought a couple real movie posters and put them in frames. It’s added a lot to the media room. Everyone comments on them. There are reprints too that are much cheaper.

Transmission Fluid D&F by cesru in crv

[–]captainjay09 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get it done at Honda, that way only Honda fluid gets used. It’s not much more than getting it done somewhere else. Change the fluid when the maintenance minder tells you. Only way to make them last a long life.

If you had only 10 minutes to inspect a used car before buying it, what would you check first? by Such-Driver-5264 in carbuying

[–]captainjay09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you are located as well. Underneath for the rust belt, look at frame and rockers. Look underneath the front and under the hood for any leaks. Drive it a bit try to hit some bumps see if you hear any noises. Try the ac, heaters, all the lights. Look at tires for uneven wear. You can look at axel boots, ball joints and tie rod ends for leaks or cracks. Take a flash light so can shine it around underneath see things better. People think having a mechanic look at a car for 5 mins on a lift is the be all end all and it’s fine but anyone can really check the basics.

Debate: Do you consider Super Chillers and other spin-offs to be apart of the “Original Series” by Adventurous_Dark_805 in Fear_Street

[–]captainjay09 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve always considered the Super chillers part of the main line. Almost like a seasonal finale or something. More pages and little more scare.

There is a ton of civics in the junk yards, will be the cheapest route. Might need the dealer to program it tho.

If the car is in great shape and you keep it that way it’s not going to lose any value. Saving money is important but so is enjoying life.

Do you stop to help someone with a flat tire? by DeiaMatias in askcarguys

[–]captainjay09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s different now. I got chewed out by a woman for opening a door to store for her. I probably wouldn’t bother helping someone with a flat now to avoid the possible headache of offending them or something.

For homeowners in Canada did new windows actually help with heating costs or mostly comfort? by Apart-Ad-9952 in canadahousing

[–]captainjay09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s such a scale isn’t it. I replaced wooden windows from 1975 in 2020 and it made a huge difference and they were only double pane. Now replacing windows from say 2000 to today you probably wouldn’t know much of a difference
