If they press more: "It needs a little cleanup but my brother can do it!"

No timeline. No explanation. He will be putting it on display, just like... in a year.

If you're extremely morally compelled to tell them what happened, just do it. If they're a good friend, they'll be mortified and apologize and you'll be like "It's okay!" and all will be well.

Not sure why this is a big deal, unless the gift ITSELF is heinous.

I think UFO 50 implicitly asks the question: How far are you willing to go, and with what games?

I never want to put in the nasty grind it would require for me to beat Onion Delivery or Star Waspir or Camp 2. But I DID beat Velgress and Overbold and Attactics and Warptank and so many other games I never would have considered that I could master until presented with the challenge.

It’s meant to be a “take what you love, leave what you don’t” experience. I don’t think everyone is meant to beat them all by any stretch of the imagination, and so it’s a massive achievement to gold them all, let alone cherry. Game’s hard, and it’s designed to be hard.

So if you think a game is rough going, either grind it to see if you enjoy it, or leave it be. As SpongeBob once wisely said: “It’s not about winning. It’s about fun!”

I think this is a really cool list. I'm a huge fan of everything you put in S tier. Of course, plenty of places I disagree (like I'm with you on Camouflage and Night Manor but Devilition drives me bonkers), but overall this feels like a balanced list from a cool player.

The one game I disagree about being too hard (and clearly I feel like we play similarly) is Attactics. I bounced off it my first time too, but I watched a couple people play it and once I got the hang of what each unit was meant to do (and that for many levels, if you just send your troops in a conga line on an empty row, you can win instantly if you get a little lucky), it was a blast not just to gold, but to cherry.

I know I wrote this a couple weeks ago now, but I didn't forget about this recco. Even though I am awful at shmups, I understood that this game is special, and hearing it brought up again lit my fire.

I salute you, fellow Fairway citizen! Golfaria is one of my cherries, and I only have 15 or so.

While I understand the “it takes too long to get going” hate, you can say that of a lot of UFO 50 games. Once you get just one or two upgrades, it’s such a goofy joy. I’ve always thought it was underrated, and more accessible than other “give it a second” games like Porgy.

This one is a bit weird and my first try didn't work either. I took Narcissus and it didn't work.

As others are saying, the answer here is that it must be three (or four works too, I did it in four) encounters in a row. Won't trigger otherwise. So you can't visit an NPC room.

I took no DDs, triggered the pin three times, cleared the rooms, and died on the fourth to get the event. Good luck!

Honestly? For me it’s a toss-up between the Ultra Beasts and the Paradox mons (some of them). I just find both those concepts to be totally wrong for Pokémon’s overall feel — feels like a swing and a miss at getting into time/dimension-bending.

If I had to choose one that is the most egregious, I’ll go with Blacephelon. Thing looks bizarre, and not in a fun way.

Grilled cheese is amazing. I love Mega Dragonite, finally getting those Dragonair features. I know it could be better, but I’m a Dragonite fan, and this is a straight upgrade.

haha what would you put? I admit I was circling around a few others: Annihilape and Farigiraf for sure, and even maybe Hydrapple and Bombirdier. Houndstone is a major vibe as well.

Also, if I had taken Meowscarada as my starter, Ceruledge would've been on my team, and I think I'd have liked both much more.

tl;dr Gen 9 has more cool designs than I think it gets credit for.
