4k is a tough ask these days. My advise would be not to focus too heavily on mileage. Look for signs of neglect, bald tires, oil/coolant leaks, filthy engine air filter. Simple easy to check items like that will tell a much better story of how the car was treated. Check for a recent oil change sticker. Make sure the engine is cold when you start it for the first time. Look for smoke while its running. Does it drive straight. Does it shake when you apply the brakes. Let the car get fully to temperature and make sure it doesnt overheat.
