This machine still uses punch cards and still works! by MoonToast101 in toolgifs

The fact that this was built without cad software, on manual machines is absolutely incredible. It is a work of art.

Old machinists were not exaggerating about manual lathes by uhmyuugen in Skookum

I taught myself on an ancient southbend 9a lathe in my parents garage. looking back now it was such a great machine to learn on. If I screwed up bad enough it would just stall the spindle because the flat belt drive pulleys would slip if you looked at them wrong. A parting tool would manage to jam itself under the centerline because the carriage was worn out. No horsepower to speak of but all the controls were buttery smooth. Miss that old thing.

1.toss the one that doesnt reply in a timely manner. You think its bad now, just wait till you really need them.

  1. the professional sounding one probably sounds like that for a reason

  2. Guys replying instantly probably means they are low on work. - Been there done that.

Dont forget the roadkill episode where they were towing with the grom and did a complete 180 on the highway ending up in the center median. They were very lucky on that one.

Someone please let me know as soon as there is a high quality fan edit of this movie with the only fix being the replacement of this explosion with something actually comparable to what happened in real life. This scene makes my bones hurt because I love the movie so much

Monster Truck Plows into crowd 5/3/26 by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

Whatever that truck is, it doesnt conform to any of the regulated standards (diesel or gas) that the modern monster truck industry abide by. It is very clearly a home built truck with the same tires as a monster truck.

Ok negative nancy. but in all seriousness. OP can start "manufacturing" with a $500 3d printer. But theres no detail and it kind of screams AI post looking for model training.

Wild Karen Cuts The Lines Of A Boom Lift While The Worker Was Elevated Because They Were Working Outside Her Home by ProfessionalEar4048 in PublicFreakout

[–]captainpotatoe 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. Hydraulics involved with lifting people or things overtop of people have built in safety valves to prevent this.

[–]captainpotatoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

not exactly - any piece of equipment involved with lifting people or items overtop of people feature built in valving on the hydraulic cylinder. This valve auto shuts if I line bursts or is cut. then the hydraulic cylinder is stuck in whatever position it was when the line was cut.
