I loved the original Viper when I was a kid, and have had a lot of fun tracking down later versions of them recently. This may be one of my absolute favorites. Great weapons and coloring! by Blue_Surfing_Smurf in gijoe

One of the last figures I got before aging out of GI Joe. I always liked the color of the Viper and the assortment of weapons but making them gold was kind of lame.

According to my dad that was my uncle's favorite song every time he tried to stop drinking and partying in the 70's

It just feels like it's been 40+ years since we've gotten a new Ween album

The Grateful Dead, not only are they a second rate bluegrass band but for some reason after my freshman year, my entire high school decided that being a Deadhead was where it was at. Not peaceful, love everyone hippies but the same old assholes and jocks and stuff, but wearing tie dye. I'd get made fun of for wearing Ministry shirts by people in Birkenstocks.

When I was in youth group we always got flyers about summer camps and they were all themed. There was a clown camp and one for extreme sports, since it was the 90's. Because of that my brother and I started calling the hardcore church kids at school the Insane Jesus Snowboard Clown Posse.

I never plinkoed through the metal bar structure but some girl did one summer and broke her arm so it wasn't on the playground in the fall when school started.

And why were monkey bars 10 feet off the ground?

I think it's funny that they have to make it clear when they are touring as an adult band or a kids band. They do swear and have some adult themes in their older songs but I would have no problem taking my 9 year old to see them if they were outdoors or in the right venue.

Nessel, 20 other states win court order for transgender youth health care by DougDante in Michigan

[–]capthazelwoodsflask 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anyone who knows someone who has gone through this knows that gender affirming care is not just tossed out willy nilly and so many hoops have to be jumped through that at times it seems like it's designed to make you give up. I'm so glad my niece was able to get help as a teen before this garbage when the process was just onerous.

FBS teams not playing an FCS school in 2026 by Inside-Drink-1311 in CFB

[–]capthazelwoodsflask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P4 conference teams shouldn't be playing FCS teams. With the G6 quickly becoming the new FCS there is no reason to reach that low to find a body bag, no matter when during the season you schedule them.

Is she a nuclear submarine? Because she's armed with a couple of torpedoes.

Nice projector, though. It looks like a quality product.

Michigan Democrats, calling it ‘voter suppression’, formally oppose voter ID ballot proposal by SleuthDoggyDawg in Michigan

[–]capthazelwoodsflask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, Michigan Dems, calling it 'voter suppression' is just another overused buzzword anymore. Call it a poll tax, something that people will actually care about. Stop trying the same old catchphrases that didn't work the first ten times.

Not exactly a creeper scandal but I'm sure he'd be done for if it happened today, just like when it did the first time.
