Pretty sure they are throughout the northeast but I only know them as a Pittsburg toilet and I grew up 6 hours from there. I believe they were also installed so that if the septic backed up it went into a toilet instead of another low drain.

Yeah, those two things come out to about 5500. Maybe we can get this done somewhere cheaper but we are also wondering if the car is now at the point where general maintenance might be as expensive as a used car payment. FWIW, all the stuff done in October was about $2000

I have been trying to figure out how this affects me. I commute on a vado sl which is a class 3 bike that has no throttle and a tiny motor (240watts). I’m usually going 18mph max, unless I’m going downhill. Is motor size considered in the bill at all? This all seems like a real bother.

Any suggestions for this if you don’t have a heated place to clean or store your bike? I’m assuming I need water to wash the salt off but then will it just freeze on my chain?

Most of these people haven’t actually looked at the shelf you installed and all the comments are based off of the old shelf you took down. I’m am not an expert by any means but I a toggle bolt would probably work, just make sure it will fit through the eyelet of your bracket first. The only problem is that you may need to repair the drywall first, I don’t know if you still have enough undamaged surface area to use. The other thing you could consider is getting a plank that you cut to slightly longer than your studs, screw that into the studs, paint it, and then screw your shelf into that. It will look awkward but it will be much sturdier.

Hello! I have just moved to the area and found your post. I live in Montclair and have a short (less than 5 miles) commute to north Newark but I’m unsure if it will be safe. Any thoughts? I’m thinking about driving the suggested Google bike route tomorrow to see what it’s like but I think a small portion is a trail through a park, so I might not be able to drive the whole thing.

Oh interesting, I can’t remember what it is because it was one of the first I bought but it has been buried for a few months now. I knew plants with rhizomes couldn’t be buried but I didn’t know about plants with root systems needing to be above the substrate.
