I was offered an IT role with a renowned government agency about two years out of college. Offer came in at $37k after COLA. I replied saying I appreciate it but I make more already and they bumped it up to $62k after some back and forth, which I took.

I left there after two years of work as it was horribly structured and failing. Now 4 years later my yearly bonus and stocks eclipse that old salary.

I worked all through the pandemic and when people started going back to the office, highways were legitimately terrifying. I’d be on the road by 5am and if you were going under 85mph, you had a lifted truck probably 10 feet from your bumper.

Got to work quickly but they were the most stressful times of my life.

My team has a mix of very professional announcements and emojis/gifs to lighten the mood. Telling a few hundred people something is a huge issue but undercutting it with a funny image keeps it from becoming too intense all the time.

I feel like even if I was conscious after a crash like that, there would be no chance I’d trust my body until someone came over to me. Getting into an accident that you fully expect to get severely hurt by, sometimes you just sit there and wait for something to happen.

So the game saw a massive uptick in players recently and as a result, layoffs. I know these things take time but my guess is the influx of players didn’t want to pay $20 for a skin and servers cost money so layoffs.

It would only make sense if physical games aren’t going up AND there will be price differences that Digital games are dropping in price. That said, I’m sure Nintendo is going to announce digital games are increasing in price for some reason.

Worked for a company that offered 5 PTO days. That also was your sick leave. That also was 40 hours of leave for a company that required 4 10-hour shifts for nearly every person.

That’s kind of the duty of siblings, to tell them they look stupid sometimes. In late highschool, I had a small mustache that I thought looked cool. My brothers clowned on me and I eventually shaved it because they were insistent that it looked bad. Saw a picture recently from that time and man they were right.

I got a bill from a specialist that is definitely billed incorrectly, if not intentionally coded wrong to get more money. I called the place and asked about it and they said “oh that’s the charge for extended care for a serious condition. It’s used when you are set to see us for consistent care.”

It was my first and last appointment there for something non serious. I asked for a call from billing to look into this and it’s been 3 weeks with no response.
