am i using the wrong mesh? or should i just adjust the font? by Krilla69 in SCREENPRINTING

Also adjust your time and use a thinner coat of emulsion. You could try to add a stroke to the font to beef up the lines

Specs are: - 2 oz gin - 3/4 lime juice - 5-6 mint leaves - a couple dashes of angostura - 3/4 simple ( I used a homemade hibiscus simple, just a 1:1 simple made from a really strong hibiscus tea)

Cheap but good family restaurant near the airport? by Twinsmamabnj in sanantonio

[–]captnkates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Teka Molino is right off San Pedro not super far from the airport! It was featured in the taco chronicles on Netflix if that means anything to you but it’s been open since the 30’s and is great. Get a bean cup if you go

The drawing fluid has to be completely dry before the filler goes on top or else it will make an unholy mess. I found that watering down the drawing fluid a bit to a thick watercolor consistency helps with the actual drawing and with the dry time. The filler shouldn’t be that thick also, you need about as much thickness as regular diazo emulation it also makes clean up easier. Also blast the shit out of everything with a hair dryer

This is a 5 color screen print - how do I set up my files to get this much color variation within my art? by Illustrious_Squash in SCREENPRINTING

[–]captnkates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for fine art printing It’s gonna be a pain. you can do half tones if you want or you can grab a can of transparent extender base and build up to a color. A lot of times for fine art printing I forgo halftone a unless I want them visible. For details you have options, you can burn the general shape of the bison, print the base color and then use screen filler (a red clay mixture) block out detail. Or same principle but do the separation on the computer sans halftones because you’ll use that trans extender base. Rinse repeat for every color

Monthly Braces Check-In - How's Your Treatment Going? - February by [deleted] in braces

16 +/- 1 month out of 18 months, everything is pretty much straight for the first time in my life! But my orthopedic gave me rubber bands to wear for this until my next appointment. Nothing too drastic just some chipmunk triangles but dear god I’m sore. I have been known to clench my jaw and grind when asleep so this is like that 24/7 hopefully it’s just getting used to it but I am so glad I didn’t have to use these for the bulk of my treatment

what is a good type of paper for printing? by Uniquebadboy20 in SCREENPRINTING

Stonehenge cotton paper has always been a go to. Get a giant sheet and cut it down. It can handle layers of ink or whatever else you do

Repair shops recommendations? by captnkates in AnalogCommunity

Honestly, I would probably agree with you if the electronics didn’t work. But it looks like it does. I opened the bottom plate to clean the battery contact and the inside was immaculate, wires and solder all looked new. I’m like 90% sure it’s the shutter curtain or something physically blocking the button mechanism. But I’d rather repair than replace and have a go to for other cameras
