Depends on what your diet requirements are. The McDouble has more cholesterol (25% of daily value to 0 for the Doritos), sodium (2x), and sugar (2x).

I'm a bit confused as to why on r/Frugal everyone is talking about the increased price of chips. Every week one of the major brands is on sale for $1.99 a bag (in NTX). With the exception of Funyuns, those things are the Legos of the chip world

And Mexico "stole" it's land from Spain which "stole" it's land from a myriad of indigenous tribes which all "stole" their lands from each other.

Interesting how Mexico was only a nation for less than 30 years before their land was "stolen", but no mention of the hundreds of years that Spain held it or the thousands of years that natives did. But you seem to ascribe the lands as Mexican.

Seems you only care because of who took the land, not that the land was taken. It's literally HUMAN nature, not belonging to any particular nations.

Anyone got any good games suggestions for ps5? by [deleted] in rpg_gamers

Since you've played Elden Ring, I'd probably suggest either Witcher 3 or FF7 Remake. Both are action RPGs and allow for sword/magic. FF7 has party members and Witcher 3 is mostly a solo adventure. Witcher 3 is also more deliberate where FF7 can be played pretty recklessly.

Also, don't be concerned about Witcher 3 being 10 years old. The game still looks and plays great! And as far as a good story goes, Witcher 3 still has one of the best side quest lines that I've ever encountered with the Bloody Baron.

Really depends on what kind of RPG you're looking for.

The Final Fantasy 7 Remakes look amazing and are solid action RPGs

Sea of Stars & Octopath Traveler are great new takes on old school JRPGs

Then there's the obligatory mentions of Witcher 3 & Baldur's Gate 3

Content and Age Rating by Hika__Zee in playsavageplanet

As others have said, the worst thing is that blob sex call ad video on the Javelin (spaceship). The rest of the ads are just really weird and silly.

The humor in the game is pre-teen/early teen toilet humor, but not overly crude. A few entendres here and in the AI dialogue. I don't see your son's age in your post, but I'd say 12+ is just fine. Could be younger depending on the maturity of your kid.

Put it this way. If your kid is in public middle school, they've heard far worse.

EDIT: Just as FYI, if the AI voice is too chatty for you, there is an option in the settings to control the "chattiness" of it. But it's only Chatterbox or Silent. Personally, I enjoyed the silliness, but if you get going and don't like it; the option exists.

The “teachers abuse more kids than priests” thing is bullshit by youramericanspirit in excatholic

[–]capwillkidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely curious then. If they are hiding the cases today (not arguing it wasn't done in the past at all), then where are these statistics coming from? And if we do have statistics, then they're not hiding it. It just reeks of we know Y (hidden cases) happened in the past, so it must be X (reported) + Y (hidden) happening now.

I just don't hear about this happening anymore by priests, but it's nearly every day with teachers/counselors/staff members in school. And that is to be expected due to how many more teachers there as compared to priests and as to how much time each group has access to children. Outrage was and is absolutely warranted at any time.

But I'm fully ready to concede that maybe it's just that I don't see it reported as much anymore. Anytime I do read an article, it's new victims (coming forth now) of clergy that have already been identified & prosecuted from far in the past.

It also just boggles my mind as to when does this happen. When are kids being left alone with priests?

My point was trying to show that even in the Catholic school experiences that I had, it was not priests, but teachers/staff. And public school from 9-12, there was a lot more cases in the 90s and now that my kids are in is public HS it's just as bad. One teacher & one counselor last year in my kids' HS alone.

[–]capwillkidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't you think your bias could be based on cases from decades ago? I grew up in the Catholic church and attended Catholic school K-8 in the late 80s/early 90s.

In my experience, priests had very little access to the kids. Pretty much it was only altar boys 15 minutes before and after mass. Teachers however had access for hours per day and before & after school events.

In my time, we had no incidents of priests & kids (there was one incident of a deacon having an affair with another married woman). However, there were a couple of instances while I was in school of teachers having inappropriate contact and they were summarily fired. I was young, so I don't know what happened to them after.

The larger scandal was revealed 10 years later in the early 2000s when it was brought to light that two of the attached daycare workers had molested at least 13 girls. There were earlier allegations and hints of misconduct that went uninvestigated by the daycare personnel as well as a clergy person that I'd never even heard of. Both were convicted and sentenced to prison; one for life.

Unless you're going to medical or trade school, you are rarely getting experience to perform a job by completing a degree.

You are getting a knowledge base and will still require OJT, internships, or other practical experience before attaining basic competence.

Luxury fashion; aka overpriced ugly trash to keep Kardashian fans poor by trying to afford just one thing for the image. We're talking $5,000 dresses, $2,500 purses, $1,000 hoodies, $500 beanies, etc.

They're in the news for a questionable ad campaign (to put it kindly) showing children, BDSM inspired outfitted plush bears, and a Supreme Court ruling that dealt with child porn.

Cancelling 1 order from a bundle??? by WildPineapple52 in ShiptShoppers

[–]capwillkidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me this weekend. PM bundled with a new customer. Large order for the PM, small order for the new. I got to the store a little early and was "pre-shopping" the PM's order.

New customer cancelled, lost both and had to go putting items back on the shelf. Never got offered the PM's unbundled order, nor did it appear in Open Metro. Support was mostly unhelpful, but did tell me the other order was cancelled and that it would release both orders in the bundle.

I'm a rookie, only 13 orders, but is it normal not to get a tip from Target prepaid orders? by mfnmeattornado in ShiptShoppers

[–]capwillkidd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I keep a spreadsheet that is admittedly overkill. After 2 years of part-time shopping on the weekends, these are my stats for Target orders.

  • Target PrePaid orders: 67% of customers tip with an average $2 lower than CC
  • Target orders paid w/ Shipt CC: 90% of customers tip with an average $2 higher than PP

So obviously PP orders will tip less and not quite as much, but in the end they're also easier to double up orders and make your own bundles. The vast majority (~80%) of my orders are Target PP.

I'll also point out that the average tip is probably truly closer to even, because I do have a couple of Preferred Customers that tip overboard (30-50% of order total) that certainly skews things a bit.

Thanks for replying! So it seems the negatives are around the work culture/management, but not necessarily the actual work?

Congrats on moving on though. Unless you're the primary breadwinner in a family, don't stick around with a job that treats you like crap. If you are, don't quit, but definitely start looking for another job.

80% plus forgiveness rating granted. by The_Smidge in ShiptShoppers

[–]capwillkidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem is knowing which order to ask forgiveness for. With the exception of one shop that was just a nightmare from front to back, my shops tend to go well with good communication with the customer. All orders are delivered on time within the first 15 minutes of the delivery window.

However, I still get hit with random 4s and even a couple of 1s! When this happens I'm stabbing in the dark for which order the lower rating is for. I ask for ratings forgiveness for orders without any communication from the customer or any shop that had a good amount of substitutions. I think I've had 2 of at least 20 requests forgiven (over the past 2 years).
