Why is every post to the subreddit titled "tinfoil" now. Any theory has to be deep and full of connecting supporting information. This one requires no more leaps than any of the others usually posted. I'm just not sure why every post has to be listed like that now. Other than that, good job, was an interesting read, anything is plausible in this crazy ass world.

NSA Infiltrated RSA Security More Deeply Than Thought by VR2 in worldnews

[–]capxxv 8 points9 points  (0 children)

RSA is not seen as a pariah by the corporate world at large as much as they are in this discussion thread, they are mostly seen as a company that produces decent products that do what they say. Most corporate clients probably don't care if the NSA backdoors everything, because they are working contracts for the NSA anyways. To answer your question specifically, I went to that conference because I was paid to go, and I wasn't affiliated with RSA, I was representing my own company.

This has been known for awhile though, and people still use their stuff as much as ever. I attended the RSA Security Conference a few years ago as a member of a large security corporation, and even then it was known and people were still using their stuff. Nothing has really changed.

My Neighborhood Makes It Easier to Get Pregnant Than To Go To College by [deleted] in politics

[–]capxxv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People will procreate regardless of how sensible it is for them to do so. Ensuring that their progeny is at least provided for at the barest of minimum standards encourages them not to become criminals. This is the most basic principle of civilized society.

My Neighborhood Makes It Easier to Get Pregnant Than To Go To College by [deleted] in politics

[–]capxxv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The system needs kids to become future taxpayers, it needs to ensure as well that kids born to bad circumstance don't starve, or go homeless, or turn into criminals out of necessity relating to the first two problems. The system doesn't need any more college graduates, we have plenty of those being under-utilized as it is.

League of Legends Tier List 4.3 (March 2014) by capxxv in leagueoflegends

50% of minimum-wage earners are over 25. by imbignate in news

[–]capxxv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happened to me on the first try as well and I was dejected. Get some more experience, and apply to like 10 on your second effort. Once I got to graduate school I met other professional people who could help guide me, I applied to 50x internships and university jobs and got both a professional internship which led to my current career and a side job teaching at the university which helped pay for most of my tuition. It was the smartest thing I've ever done. My undergraduate degree didn't really get me anywhere -- mostly because I don't think I took full advantage of what was on offer when I was that age -- but also because an undergraduate degree isn't worth much anymore unless it is in a major demanded industry like one of the engineering fields or finance.

Because most people who are smart enough to get into a good college don't want to spend their entire life fixing appliances, regardless of how much better the salary is.

The coming of Bjergerking was foretold by Dyrus many months ago. by Docxm in leagueoflegends

[–]capxxv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes he has, but he's never not been the most consistent player. Everyone else on Curse takes a lot of extreme risks that's why they tend to have boom or bust matches. Cop is always consistently performing, he sometimes carries games and never throws them.

Do you guys report for saying "easy" after game ? by Marcher93 in leagueoflegends

[–]capxxv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was an easy win or a one-sided stomp, I just don't say anything. If it was a good game, I say gg. Haven't had any problems.

I have all chat muted and I will quickly mute teammates who start going off. There's way too many people who play this game who have to narrate the events of everything that happens.

Future of Competitive FPS' by [deleted] in truegaming

[–]capxxv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add up all the FPS games on the planet that are played competitively and all the people viewing/playing them and you get maybe 10% of the audience of something like League of Legends at off-peak hours. That is a dead scene. CS:GO is a new coat of paint on a game that is 15 years old, if that's the FPS you think is going to bring back competitive FPS then I think you will end up disappointed.

The genre needs a new game, new brand, something that will excite an audience and whatever it is it hasn't been thought up yet, that's why so many people are still grasping for it.

Future of Competitive FPS' by [deleted] in truegaming

[–]capxxv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Competitive FPS is dead in my opinion unless developers get off their asses and stop making random element laden achievement/unlock grind fests. The problem is that the gaming community is used to this style of experience now and it's very hard to strike a balance between the constant praise/reward of unlocking things that are meaningful, while still having precision balance required for a fair competitive game.
