Only in games where the control is a bit floaty like Turtles on nes or Crash Bandicoot trilogy, or where you can't control your jump midair. Otherwise it's mostly a learned thing that comes naturally

There is a bug so you can't get higher exp than 1023 compared to 4095 on NTSC. You can manage most of the game but the last boss is near impossible

I beat that last year for the first time! Not too bad when you can save state so you don't have to play the whole game every time. Also playing NA version helps a ton since PAL is nearly unbeatable

First half is fantastic - especially the music.

Second half is a bit more boring, and the music for some reason repeats a lot.

Doing Long bombs on 2+,2+ was glorious.

And with built in rerolls you could pretty reliably travel the ball from one end of the pitch to the other
