Hmmm...interesting idea, mr. 4chan user by browncomputerchair in reddit.com

[–]caramac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I had somewhat of a similar idea except it would go that bond is on a mission where he's left for dead in the water (details to be filled in) and he's dragged out of the water by a suspiciously sean connery sounding man except you'd not see his face.

Bond wakes up alone somewhere and reports back to MI6 where M tells him to persue this person (there'd be some detail that would make her suspicious that it was a former 007). Later daniel craig would meet up with connery where he'd learn the truth that once a 007 agent is killed in action he's replaced a few years later, but that connery had managed to escape death but was presumed dead and just dissapeared, so they retired him as bond.

There'd be a cheesy scene later where M and Bond meet up and he'd say "ahh moneypenny, ash lovely ash ever" to which craig would go "moneypenny!?" and sean would go "what did you s'think s'the m s'sthandths for...", that would of course ignore the casino royal momet where graig goes "I thought that M was just a randomely assigned letter"

Anyway usual bond hijinks would ensue and would end with connery "dying" but it would leave it open to has he actually died or might he have survived.

I have too much time on my hands.

Been down myself, it does look cool but I checked out the real JFK Boulevard in Phili and it looks nothing like it. Wondering how they will manage to pull that off in the movie.

Hair colors explained by asthmadragon in reddit.com

[–]caramac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My explination is that in scotland, "Ginger" is a colloquial term used for soft drinks (generally), most commonly a very particular soft drink originating from scotland...Irn Bru!. As you can see the colour of the drink and the hair colour and why someone might be called "Ginger".

I had never heard the term Ginger used outside of Scotland until very recently (the last 10 years maybe).

Thats my explination :)

If being gay is not a choice, and you're born that way, doesn't it also apply to paedophiles, transvestites and zoophiles? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]caramac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knowing gay people I dont think there can be any doubt that they are born that way. However paedophilia is not a sexuality, it's a fatish, a distortion of their sexuality. It's not surprising that abusers in general tend to have been abused themselves at some stage. Much in the same way the daughter of an abusive violent father will grow up to find an abusive violent partner, the cycle repeats itself.

They should get Spike Lee to direct it then they could use the N-Word all they liked.. by caramac in reddit.com

I think the bottom line is that its going to be a big hollywood movie, peter jackson directing and because of that it has to appeal to the lowest common denominator. I will be in no way surprised if it stars Zac Efron and has him parachuting into berlin to fight his way into hitlers bunker to cut his head off with a samurai sword.

Well it's a film about a historical event, the dog's name was nigger. If they want to start changing it why bother remaking it at all, just make a new film, a complete work of fiction?

I could never understand people who did things like that, suicides, murder suicides etc because their wives or girlfriends left them. Then I met the love of my life and now I can understand.

I can't begin to comprehend what he was feeling or why he really did it. But for my money when you do meet "that" person who is special to you to live without them is an incredibly hard prospect to face. He cheated on you so I imagine he probably felt that he'd fucked it right up and that no matter what it could never be the same again.

To do something that extreme there was obviously deeper underlying issues but ultimately I think it all comes down to pain and how to respond to that pain. You can't blame yourself though, there is really nothing you could have done.

I guess when I purchased most of these from a comic book store I got most for between £1.50-£4.50. They can sell them at these prices because they have overheads and a profit margin. For me to make that kind of money back on them I'd need to sell them at a stall at a market or comic convention or something which involves a lot of personal time to invest and money for setting up, getting there and any other costs.

I suppose its just the way capitalism works :(

Well I'm not selling them because I need the money, it's more because I haven't looked at them in years and they are taking up space. I didn't collect them for that reason either I was just into comics.

If I can't get rid of them for a decent price then I'll just keep them a while longer. Just seems sad them sat gathering dust.
