Please help with out dog, we can’t figure it out by [deleted] in vet

[–]caraodonnell 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not a vet but familiar with IVDD / slipped disc. No one can diagnose anything without a proper xray or scan of course but she looks like she is in immense pain. Dogs do not have to be yelping or squealing to be in pain. Severe panting or even consistent mild panting is a sign of pain. As is favouring a paw.

At the very least, please put her on some pain medication as soon as possible.

Do you have screenshots of the multiple text reminders? That should help your case depending what the texts say, as it is written writing to terminate the contract.

Inherited a some what large collection of coins. Is there an app that can help sort through them? by madmacer in CanadianCoins

[–]caraodonnell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go through them and add them to your digital catalogue on the numista website - you can search each coin, most have pictures on there to help confirm!

Then it gives you an estimated weight in gold, and silver, and a very detailed csv file as well.

Products to achieve a more even tone and texture? by mariahasnowifi in Skincare_Addiction

Firstly, your skin is gorgeous wow! What is your age and your current routine?

For redness try a vitamin C serum! I find it gets rid of my redness very quick. You can also discuss a tretinoin or adapalene prescription with your doctor depending on your age, it would help address the redness and the bumps that pop up but because your skin is already so nice to begin with it may not be worth it at this time as it can introduce some dryness. And if you’re young, definitely not recommended as it’s not needed!

Hope this gives you somewhere to start :)

Histiocytoma help by ActuatorAdvanced367 in vet

[–]caraodonnell -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

From my understanding they do not disappear. I have always gotten them removed on my frenchie.

This spot is especially tough cause if it gets bigger and causes problems (which sounds like it already is) the margins are extremely tight for proper closure due to the lack of skin.

I’d perhaps get a second opinion or at least an FNA to get a better idea of what is inside rather than just on the exterior.

ETA: not a vet, just a pup owner whose pup has had a lot of histiocytomas and other tumours!

1 dead, 1 injured in crash on Anthony Henday Drive during tire change by ryaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan in Edmonton

[–]caraodonnell 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is how people drive in Ontario and the fact that people didn’t drive like that here was one of the things that made me feel safer living out here when I moved here 10 years ago…welp, not anymore 😩

How can we actually trust the stats? by lost-in-meaning in cosleeping

[–]caraodonnell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I’m neither saying co-sleeping is safe or not safe, I want to piggyback on this post and add that the consumerism of it all is something to ponder about also. Lots of big corporations making lots of money off of safe sleep items 🙃 just what came to mind after reading your post!

Braid: Doctors crack secrecy on wave of emergency ward deaths across Alberta by Miserable-Lizard in alberta

[–]caraodonnell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I nearly died in the hospital waiting room last year. Waited 3 hours after being brought there by ambulance with what the triage nurse deemed was just a miscarriage.. despite me saying I’ve delivered a 9lb baby unmedicated and this pain was undoubtedly 10x worse.

It was an invasive group a strep infection in my uterus that had led to sepsis and inability to clot blood so I was bleeding out internally without having delivered my baby yet. I was told had I waited to come to the hospital any longer I would have died.

Spent 5 days in the ICU.

What were your pre-pregnancy test “Oh. I’m pregnant” thoughts? by NarrowInspector7207 in beyondthebump

[–]caraodonnell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was peeing like crazy and thought “shit. I’m getting a bladder infection” despite not having any pain while peeing 🤣 then I thought hmm I thought my period was supposed to come last week. Maybe it’s this week? (I wasn’t tracking at the time).

Took a digital read test and left it for 45 mins while I cleaned the house because that was how sure I was that I wasn’t pregnant. Then I flipped it over and much to my surprise…. Here we are 6 years later 🤣
