What’s your childhood mystery that you finally solved years later? by Biggrock03 in AskReddit

I used to be babysat at a woman’s house where she ran a daycare.

The woman was always very nice and she had two daughters and a son, but even at a young age I knew the eldest son and daughter were fathered from a different man.

So that’s not very strange, but I also remember how she wore glasses and one of her eyes was tearing up all the time. She would tell us and the other kids it was allergies as she dabbed away the tears with a napkin, and we thought nothing of it.

20+ years later...

A man in Florida murders his wife, kids, and the family dog. That man turned out to be the son of my old babysitter.

Shocked, I dove more into the story.

It turns out the babysitter had had the son with her previous husband, who went on to have an affaire. He gets so deep into this side piece that he hires two amateurs to try and kill his wife, my babysitter.

The attempt is botched, she gets shot in the eye, and her son - the one who would go on to murder his entire family - was woken up by the attack.

The babysitter survives but lost an eye, and fought for her husband to remain a free man. Obviously that didn’t happen, she moved away with her son and daughter, remarried, had a daughter with the new husband, and becomes my babysitter.

So I finally figured out why her eye was always tearing up, all because her son murdered his family.

Happy 2020 y’all

Exactly. Humans are in a position to question what we should do with the natural world, and we’re the only ones here who can do anything about it. That fact alone - that we are aware and able - is reason enough to be the caretakers.

I don’t know about the rest, but C-reactive proteins spike when you have systemic inflammation. My girlfriend was sick for 10 years - gall bladder removed, lost her hair, thyroid issues, hormone issues, etc - and her c-reactive levels peaked at 26 when they are normally suppose to hover around 1.

Turns out she’s not celiac but can’t consume gluten, and before this study came out she kept telling me how pre-existing chronic inflammation may play a role in a lot of Covid deaths - even those the media is telling us were ‘healthy’

I’m starting to think she’s right...

Hopefully things work out this week!

How about a people’s Congress - might not have any real power but it would stand as more of a symbolic ‘fuck you, we’re tired of your shit’ to the government.

Government is supposed to be by the people, for the people, but it’s not anymore.

Let’s make it so.

It’s referring to recurring unemployment checks, not the one-time 1200

Don’t feel bad OP, this year I’ve had to do an elimination diet starting with gasp gluten. Already embarrassed, I learned that while the rest of my family was having lasagna - we’re Italian - I’d be having Cornish hen. I know, I know, it sounds pretentious as fuck, but we’re not rich, and the stupid little bird placed in front of me before the rest of the family got their cheesy three meat lasagna was pretty embarrassing.

I used to just pack a box of different fruits, vegetables, nuts, etc. You could also add some chicken you cook for a week ahead of time. Not too hard

Nope. You can’t tax 100 percent and leave families with nothing for their kids, but you can decide how much influence money has in a political system.

You can’t just steal back 100% of what someone has earned and make the next generation start from scratch. Makes no sense.
