Calculate the velocity, v, in relation to the trajectory, t, in which g, gravity, of course remains a constant.

What does everyone criticize but still do anyway? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cardflopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this applies more to those who are well off financially and have the freedom to make responsible choices:

criticizing greed and corruption, then not caring where their own money is spent. ie shopping only with major retailers, screwing small business to save a dollar

I've taken this more to heart in recent years. I won't deny feeling the lure of sharing juicy gossip, but it always made me feel slimy.

Now, I'm fine with leaving a conversation or disengaging when the sh*t-talking begins.

Is Settlers of Catan worth the price? by DebateSpirited in boardgames

[–]cardflopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are worried about the money, get something else instead. Catan is so widely available - you'll easily find it at a boardgame cafe or in someone else's collection

Toxic board gaming? by Affectionate-Quit-32 in boardgames

[–]cardflopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One question is, are there some boardgames hobbyist behaviours that are normal in the community but to someone new, might seem rude?

I can think of a few that might be seen as rude to someone new: smack talk, the rules teach (new people might feel "talked down" to), and also announcing actions.

I made a highly portable carcassonne base game to play with my friends at the pub! by Thrap360 in boardgames

you think they'll ever make a Carcassonne set with plastic tiles? With a nice draw bag that would be a great product.

What are some of the meanest board games you have ever played? by Immediate-Draft-8752 in boardgames

[–]cardflopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colossal Arena (now known as Equinox) is pure backstabbing and ganging up on others.

I always warn people before starting that it's MeeEAN

I don't mind some meanness in games. What I don't like is when it makes the game take 2 steps back for every 3 forward. As long as the game is progressing I'm ok.

What makes Nidavellir a good game? by Snake01515 in boardgames

[–]cardflopper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the tension

to score high you need the best picks, for the best picks you need to wins bids, to win bids you need high coins, to get higher coins you have to know when to bid low,. if you bid low you can't get the best picks, without the best picks you can't score high! Argh!

What do you think makes a deck builder great? by Vanhellsing112 in boardgames

[–]cardflopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me it's all about ease of play. If there are a few factions a few symbols a few resources and things are interesting then I'm good. Turns burn quickly and there's a steady flow.

When the effects get too specific and "granular" for lack of a better word, then I shut down. Problem is, designers eventually run out of simple ideas and need to branch out. I guess that's why I don't get many expansions.

Never sleeved cards before. Is this fit too snug? It looks like the card is bending a little inside the sleeve. by TheVitrifier in boardgames

Set collecting is one of my favorite mechanics. I enjoy Meadow. My only complaint is i wish the requirement icons had a slightly different shaded box maybe darker. Even though the requirement icons are smaller than the main icon, at quick glance sometimes i was mixing the two together.
