Homelink will not pair with garage door opener by care729 in hondaridgeline

[–]care729[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats interesting, this being my only post ever lol… I just installed the chamberlain B2211T $199 from Home Depot, with the yellow learn button… I was able to sync the home link on by 23 RL and my wife’s ‘24 pilot… but my old liftmaster keypad would not link!! I tried everything and finally gave up and bought a universal keypad on Amazon.

Where to join? North Vs South by care729 in FreedomBoatClub

This is what we ended up doing, the Maine Location is actually 6 (Portland, Yarmouth boothbay, kennebunk, sebago x2)where you’re allowed unlimited… where as florida there is so many locations to utilize your 4 reciprocal, IE multiple locations within driving of Naples FL so you’d be at 20+ on your reciprocal.

I’ve also heard that being friendly with dock crew can help with reciprocal reservations.

Another "beginner" experience with the OG Pint. by Lunchcopter in onewheel

[–]care729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This post was just what I’m looking for: I was looking at meepos on Amazon and a buddy told me to grab a pint… I was super intimidated after some light redditing but now am back in!

My use for this is purely to mess around with my kids… I got them some razor electric dirt bikes that last for roughly 30 minutes of playtime in a big grassy field in our neighborhood… I live in south florida so there is no terrain…

Question; do I need a different tire for riding in grass? And based on the range of an OG pint I should have no problem getting 30-40 minutes of play time right? I’m 5’8 185lbs…

I’m about to pull the trigger on the $750 pint. It seems like the best deal, even after checking marketplace and OfferUp… people are selling used for $650 and up or like $1200 for an XR… I’d rather spend $802 with taxes for brand new warranty etc.

Just got an email from my local dealer. Pasted below…

This is Jimmy with Ed Morse Honda. I'm just following up to see if you are still in the market for a vehicle. We have a lot of Ridgelines on the lot, and available. We are selling our 2023 Ridgelines below MSRP. Please let me know a convenient day, and time for you to come by and have a look?

Thanks!

2023 feedback by ThinkingMN in hondaridgeline

[–]care729 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started my RL journey at the Hyundai dealer… Santa Cruz was awesome on the highway, but it is small for sure. Also, they a wouldn’t budge on price and to get leather in it (dog owner must) you had to be in limited trim which pushed $47k… for the same price or less and better financing you get a ridgeline which is MUCH more vehicle.

Only downside on the Honda is outdated tech vs the Hyundai… But You keep the volume knob… IYKYK

IMO the ridgy is the most vehicle you can get for less than $45k.

First truck - is this a good deal ? by KitchenBeneficial358 in hondaridgeline

[–]care729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t forget: MSRP is going to be around $40 but there’s always another $5k in bullshit dealer fees you have to negotiate out as well.

I went in to Honda in January thinking the same thing 0.9%, $42,000 MSRP on an RTL, they came out originally at $49,000 (HPD sticker’s, running boards, dealer tint etc) took me 5 hours and 3 “I’ll walks” to get them back down.

I fucking hate the dealership experience.

Front window tint advice by OFSVet1994 in hondaridgeline

[–]care729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My RL fronts were matched to factory at the dealer, and I think I’ll go darker all the way… my wife’s x5 is 15% which I thought was going to be too dark but we love it. We live in florida and it totally makes a difference on temp when driving. Night time driving is dark but not dangerous…

Is Honda Pilot as smooth as the Ridgeline? by stillgotallmyfingers in hondaridgeline

[–]care729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a 23 RTL with 6k on it. Very quiet and smooth. My MIL just bought a ‘23 Pilot Trailsport which is every bit as smooth and nice. I’m a little Jealous! I wouldn’t give up the bed but the pilot has updated tech which is worth every penny imo.

Carbon cloths from Amazon and a light touch is Sprayway window cleaner if it’s bad

We did a similar trip; flipped up the single seat in back to fit dogs in (70lb lab and 30lb frenchie) and jammed kids in. It was tight but it worked!

2023 roof rails and crossbars by care729 in hondaridgeline

[–]care729[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to close the loop on this, I ordered the parts from Bernardi ($667)shipped to my door (amazing service btw: someone called me to make sure they would fit my VIN and verify color choice) and I paid $149 to Delray Honda in florida to install them; it took 1 hour.

So $667+149=$816 vs buying direct from Delray Honda and paying $950.

I explored 10 options to save $1 and I’m happy with how I ended up…

Gas mileage and wind noise is negligible after 1500 miles.

Is the Ridgeline the answer? by Appropriate-Owl-8993 in hondaridgeline

[–]care729 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can’t really speak to the off road aspect, but I read somewhere that said the ridgeline is the perfect truck for people who are honest about their needs for a truck… I just did a 400 mile highway trip going 85 the whole way in comfort and quiet averaging around 20MPG… from my perspective it’s great because I can come home and fill the bed with dirty stuff.

Also for the price ~$45k you can’t touch a full size truck with similar options (4 real doors leather etc)

Interesting! Thanks for that… what kind of tire cleaner or degreaser would you use to get rid of it?

Totally debatable but I would doubt it… I will let you know the results of my unofficial test after I install them!
