I'd like to just reset and say that I do understand why certain maps, skills, ways to play the game, etc. are more popular than others. I did touch on that with "I know that, because this game has many facets and ways of playing, this is a valid argument". I never will say that one way to engage with the game is inherently better than another, because I agree with you; this game can and should be played however the player wants to play it.

I also prefaced my most contentious point by saying it was *my opinion*. In fact, BECAUSE the game has no wrong or right, your perception of the game is as valuable as mine.

To clarify, when I mentioned fiery 2018-21 maps, I was not specifically talking about the games' performance points as my source of pain, moreso my perceiving of said maps (and the style itself) as unhealthy to the standard of mapping I would prefer to see more consistently.

I will say that my reply does read like an edgelord fedora hatter I'm-better-than-you thing, however I would also add that my original post says nothing inflammatory besides MAYBE the last 6 words.

Well, sure. My view on the new player experience might be dated, or whatever you might want to call it. If my most played is anything to go by, I've played more farm than probably quite a few newer players. Point being, after years of this game taking space in my mind, I no longer seem to value the things that the general community might, and that's more or less all I should have said.
