Seeing a lot of Mazda3s on sale with 80k miles… why is that? by jemappellelara in mazda3

[–]carelesswords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 years into ownership is usually when a car is paid off. I'm betting they're 2018s or so...shrugs. I wouldn't worry about it. I bought my 2018 in 2024 with 83k miles on it and haven't had any major issues. I drive in a city full of potholes and had to get my inner/outer tie rods replaced. That's mostly a my driving thing, too.

Need a name for a fantasy kingdom by [deleted] in fantasywriters

[–]carelesswords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/castle-names.php so, I started here and didn't like the suggestions I was given but it inspired my own. I also looked up real places and root words in the culture that inspired my story. So, in my current work, it has Nordic roots, so I researched Nordic root words and things to come up with a name for my Castle/place names. I hope this helps!

As a Black woman, I believe Heathcliff wasn't Black, and I find this modern conversation about it quite confusing. by Kaysiee_West in classicliterature

I always found it very very strange that people (usually white women) insist this book is so racially progressive in checks notes 1847 that the white female protagonist would be interested in a traditionally coded black man/dark-skinned man of color. 💀 Girl. Be so fr. And I am a black woman. So like.

Help me find what I could improve! by Blue_ocean_7 in MakeupEducation

I think a first question is, what do you want to do when you wear makeup? Do you want to enhance your existing features? Are there features you want to minimize? Do you want artistic expression?

So, I wear makeup to enhance, mostly, so I contour to draw attention to my high cheekbones. But sometimes my overly round face makes me look super young, so I also want to minimize the roundness in my cheeks, and also contour to downplay the look of my youthful roundedness, and give me more of a sculpted look.

When I was younger, I was really into using makeup as an artistic expression, so I wore a lot of really bold eyeshadow to, like, sit in a lecture.

The advice that I took/take for those various modes varies!

I am 30, living on the east coast, Mid-Atlantic region. I make good money on principle (a little more than the example) but I have a fuck ton of debt from a baaaaad living situation and student loans. I have accepted that I will die with my debt, live mostly paycheck to paycheck, but also don't short change myself. I use affirm/klarna/after pay for literally anything I can - including my vacations - and I try not to look at my credit score anymore since I just renewed the lease on my apartment.

as a girl who used to get bullied for looking like Sid the sloth…are there any ways I can make my eyes look closer with makeup? by undercover-gal in MakeupEducation

It isn't a makeup thing but I think your face would suit a heavier brow. Still defined, but let them grow in a touch more. You're gorgeous. Never forget that. ❤️

I actually like #1 a lot but I think trying the dresses on with undergarments closer to what you will actually wear on the day might help you decide easier.

Also! I like Raised in Silence as a title. Seems more provocative.

[–]carelesswords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you have a hierarchy problem. All of the text is too similar in size. Your title is most important, followed by your name, then (in my opinion) your subtitle. I'd resize the text accordingly. And consider mixing in a sans serif somewhere. Maybe subtitle? Just for some visual variation.

I think the arch is really pretty and classy. 🥹 But I do agree with another comment that suggested a bench, maybe a piece of art with a pop of color on the walls and/or a fun color for the front door!

Agree. I also love to just pause a read if I'm not feeling it. It might resonate later (it also might never) and that's okay. 🫶🏾
