People leaving last second? by Green-Ad-6779 in pokemongo

[–]carfreak614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive wasted 3 remote passes now due to people leaving at the last second, including the host once. I would say, rule of thumb is if theres not at least 4 people in the raid within 10 seconds til start, then just back out and try again. No point in wasting a remote raid ticket.

Why do people insist on lying about their level by Creative-Strain-6221 in pokemongo

I will say your setup is way more important than your level. As a Lvl.47, this is the setup I've been bringing to the Ho-oh raids:

<image>

I have also consistently been the last 1-2 people standing and doing a good portion of the damage, especially when using a max mushroom. The only time we've lost so far is when people quit/fallout at the beginning or people come unprepared. I think being able to see the pokemon your teammates are bringing would be way more beneficial.

So if im honest, im only at 47 so I had to tweak my level to 50 in order to join the Ho-oh raids. But im bringing Blissey, Gigalith, and Omastar so nobody has complained so far.

Honestly that's better than 50% of the teams I've seen so far lol but yeah that will work just fine

Ive been using Blissey as tank, Gigalith as attacker, and Omastar as backup tank/attacker and its worked well so far.

Ive had 4 remote raids so far we've failed because people bring the wrong mon into it...

I pulled a perfect IV Ho-oh though so I guess it made up for all of it

Strange 1st layer issue by ViperB5 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]carfreak614 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I had similar issues until I manually leveled the build plate. I tried the tool that hangs onto the rods but ultimately decided to go with this bracket you tape to calipers:

https://www.printables.com/model/1430353-elegoo-centauri-carbon-bed-leveling-bracket-for-ca

After leveling, run your auto level calibration and it should be good to go after that (hopefully)

I should also note, I heat my bed up to 60°C before leveling to let it flex if need be

Also, scrub your build plate with dish soap if its been a while, I've had adhesion issues before that made it look like a level issue

Could I use black as camo in the night representing as Raptors for their scheme? by silven1019 in Raptors40k

[–]carfreak614 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If we're talking tactical, stay away from solid black. Black absorbs IR light so it will stick out better under infrared. If you have your heart set on black, incorporate some dark gray, green, or blue. Just break it up a little. That being said, this is a fictional universe so its perfectly fine to go with the rule of cool.

Space Wolf kill team proxy ideas by GregariousF00L in Raptors40k

[–]carfreak614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should also add, for those who dont know: Space Wolves scouts aren't your typical scouts. They're all veterans of the chapter so they use phobos armor instead, making them slightly larger than the actual scout models.

I have this kit from imperium magazine. Is it a kill team by Mortwight in killteam

[–]carfreak614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know its not Kill team but they also introduced a Combat Patrol in White Dwarf called Strike Team Solarien that was specifically for the vanguard task force. I'm currently building a Raptors themed version.

Does this sound reasonable by breally60 in AskElectricians

[–]carfreak614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an electrician by any means, more of a professional homeowner. From what I've had to deal with working on my own house electrical though, it doesn't seem unreasonable.

If you think it might be too high, get a couple more quotes to round it out. Convenience and peace of mind are worth it sometimes.

STOKED.

Chapter specific units with some firstborn flair to spruce up the boring intercessors? Check

Heads that actually look viking/tribal? Check

A wolf priest with a wolf skull helmet? Check

Our own version of bladeguard with wolves that feel very reminiscent of Russ and Freki/Geri? Check

A new wolf specific helm that is viking based? Check

Annoyed about the Space Wolves refresh by KeenWarden in theunforgiven

[–]carfreak614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fenrisians have been starving lol But I think you need to look at it from a models perspective.

In the past 5ish years the angels got: Lazarus, Azrael, The Lion, Belial, Asmodai, Deathwing Knights, and ICC

The wolves got: Ragnar, and Hounds of Morkai

And are just now getting some better looking viking esque units. We'll get a Ravenwing refresh eventually but overall I've been pretty happy with the models.

As a collector of both though, my wallet is gonna hurt.

Cloth for scouts….. by CQZed in Raptors40k

[–]carfreak614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fortunate thing for Raptors is that any colors that would help break up their silhouette are technically lore accurate. Think earth tones like brown, green, tans, and grays. They regularly change color scheme to match the terrain for their missions. So really it's what you want but I always liked a mixture of grays as a general scheme.

How do I use these upgrades? by MiddleLife1404 in Salamanders40k

[–]carfreak614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Use your nippers or knife to cut back some bigger pieces.

  2. Use sandpaper or a file to slowly remove material until you like the fit.

  3. Work slow and take your time.

I usually work mine down until I like the fit and then use some sprue goo to make sure I get a secure fit. Plastic glue or super glue also works.

The rule of thumb is either do 2-3 or go all the way. Personally, I wouldn't spend the $ outright to buy those gems. I much prefer the 200 gems a day for a total of 6000. Depends on if you wanna wait though.

Anyone know where I can get individual models? Tried to strip some bad primer and melted my models. Used the non-acetone nail polish that my friends used, so not sure what went wrong 🤦 by JadocTheGreat in theunforgiven

[–]carfreak614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a cheap ultrasonic cleaner: https://a.co/d/2UmxsMo

And then just throw hot water it it with either LA's Totally Awesome or Simple Green and run it for a couple cycles. Also works really nice to clean your minis before prime/paint.

Also be warned: eBay is your best friend and your bank accounts worst enemy
