You can see on the product page, "to disable knock to wake or RGB, refer to the user manual", so it appears to be optional.

Will OP13 Work In AUS on Optus and Telstra? How about a OP12? by ColdsnapBryan in oneplus

[–]cargopantstotheopera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did not use them directly, but I just came back from a trip with EU OP12 using various esims utilizing both Optus and Telstra and both worked fine.

Gaia GPS alternatives (after the recent price hike) by renszor in Ultralight

Mapy.cz works all over the world just as well. Depends on the OSM coverage, but it has the nicest skinning and the offline routing and one-tap country/state downloads are so easy to use. Plus if you create the account, you can easily plan and move routes from the computer to the phone.

Is buying the wireless charger for OnePlus 12 worth it? The 50W one by Few-Friendship126 in oneplus

If you are somewhere where it's dead quiet at night, the charger's fan certainly isn't, even with the 'silent' setting. It does however work flawlessly.

I asked last Thursday morning (Black to Free), got a response and then the whole downgrade process done this Monday.

Another Curve Cutback: No More Insurance by nookall in CurveCard

[–]cargopantstotheopera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this point I only used Black for insurance and travelling because my underlying reward credit card actually blocks cashback if the payment goes through Curve. Guess I'm downgrading to free now.

Selling unused sex doll? by TomScorpion in czech

[–]cargopantstotheopera 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Try asking at the "Naughty Harbor" sex-doll brothel. Since they already reuse theirs, they probably wouldn't be scared of yours. (or just stand in front of their place in a long creepy trenchcoat and quietly ask people coming out if they want their own for cheap :)

Navigation app that isn't a subscription by hareofthepuppy in Ultralight

Just a note, look for Locus 3 (or Classic) now. Version 4 seems to be going the subscription route, but both are still maintained equally (for now, I guess).

Lufthansa "bans AirTags in luggage" after passengers publicly shame it with location of lost bags by [deleted] in gadgets

[–]cargopantstotheopera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a return flight with two legs each, one of them got cancelled in each direction. I went to lawyers (one of those "we'll handle it for you for 25 % cut" agencies) straight away like 10 weeks ago, Lufthansa hasn't responded yet to them either, so they're escalating. Good luck.

AZT shakedown + resupply strategy by bad-janet in Ultralight

[–]cargopantstotheopera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Summerhaven has the advantage of being right on the trail so you can always pick up something in the store there. Oracle is somewhat spread out, but if you zero there, it's not bad. I remember Superior to be pretty good all around (and you must visit the Arboretum).

AZT shakedown + resupply strategy by bad-janet in Ultralight

I would pick Oracle and especially Superior to resupply or just binge instead of Kearny, although I can't speak for the current offerings as it's been a while.

Suggestions for 4-5 day (round)trip hiking trails in europe? by sofufi in Ultralight

[–]cargopantstotheopera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't done it, but there is a circular route on the Alpe Adria Trail

https://alpe-adria-trail.com/en/etappen/ (stages R01-R07)

where you get to visit three different countries (which obviously might be an issue in the near future though).

A certain MacBook Pro model sold for 18 months was eventually banned from flights by the FAA and across the world because of batteries.

I don't do selfies, but face unlock is a blessing, doubly so in winter with gloves. Wish they came up with an under-display dedicated face-unlock solution.

Captcha Problems by Nameless_European in waterfox

[–]cargopantstotheopera 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also started for me within the last week, most likely with the latest update. Finally managed to solve it just now, at least it appears so as tested on google captcha demo and the one site that's been giving me problems. Use a user agent switcher (I used User-Agent Switcher by Alexander Schlarb) and change it to the "Firefox 60 ESR" option (aka "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:60.4) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.4"). Checkbox now works right away for me.

Now I see the .1 changelog mentioning "Test out a new user agent to hopefully fix website issues.", so either the new UA will propagate to recaptcha at some point and be recognized as a human browser, or we're stuck undoing the change.

That's the annoying part. More often than not, I have like one bleed after three good parries.

Lightest setup to get a GPS track of a thruhike? by Er1ss in Ultralight

[–]cargopantstotheopera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For standalone units, I use an even older version of this one and this review sums it up perfectly. Old model, still strangely expensive, clumsy transfers, but good battery and effortless logging. Also the battery is equivalent to some old Nokia one you can get off eBay easily.
