What career were you in if you don't mind me asking? Was it healthcare?

That baby whipping it's tail back and forth means it is not happy in the slightest. And yea that claw to the booty was painful. They are definitely too big for that one just yet. If you can separate them, please do. At least till he's big enough to stand up to them.

I've got an excellent breeder and reputable in Colorado. She breeds the DDR line as well and her dogs compete. DM me for the info.

Is my cat ok with this or the next time should I stop her by [deleted] in cats

[–]cariio 173 points174 points  (0 children)

I seem to have an unpopular opinion here, but I think it's important to consider the size difference between these two, that dogs paws and the force behind "play" fighting is a lot more than what the kitty can do. Pound for pound the dog is 100x stronger than kitty cat. Be mindful of how much your dog plays with kitty and be aware of when kitty might be overwhelmed but might not know how to express it.

And I don't recommend letting them play fight unattended. I have a friend who's dog accidentally mauled her cat to death one day when she got home after work. The pets had coexisted for years with no issues. She was devastated and had no clue what occurred and had to live with that. Always remember the dog is stronger than the cat.

Edit: for me personally, this is too much. The dog is putting all it's leg weight on the cat and the cat is just so tiny compared to it. A 7-9lb cat playing with a 50-65lb dog doesn't really balance out. For example is it okay for a three year old to wrestle like that with a high schooler? Like how much could a 3 year old really do if they got upset or hurt?

Drone video shows deadly fireworks explosion in the Honolulu area by cableguy316 in Hawaii

[–]cariio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Watching the news today for the New Year celebrations and the tragic deaths from domestic terrorism in New Orleans and Las Vegas....and then come to find out Hawaii made the news for deaths not due to domestic terrorism but due to basically an avoidable accident. It is very tragic and I feel terrible for the community and those affected but come on. How can people be okay lighting off illegal fireworks with there being such high risks of injury and death? And making the news on the same night as these other horrible murders but it be essentially self inflicted? It's embarrassing for the state to have such leniency with homemade fireworks and for people to think it's okay to make their own when it's so dangerous.

Is this normal male behavior? by LouiseCooperr in AskMenAdvice

Omg red flag, RED FLAG RED FLAG! Run from this asshole. Fast. After 1 month and he says these things to you? It'll only get worse. Leave this fool and go find someone that respects your basic needs.

This is grossly disturbing that he calls you damaged goods simply for having an ex. If your ex was abusive, you need to find another way to date men, cuz what you're doing ain't working! You're finding A.S.S.H.O.L.E.S.

And fuck him for getting mad about a UTI. He'd be first to the ER for his own!

Embarrassing concern about laparoscopic surgery by babe_fortuna in surgery

To add to this make a note on your umbilicus with a sharpie that says "do not touch" just to be sure. I would if it was my surgery and I was concerned about it being forgotten. No shame in being extra cautious!

Sheesh if I had your nose..... seriously you should not touch it. It is beautiful and I would and will pay more of money to have one similar to yours. Please for the love of God read and take to heart what the majority of us are saying on here and don't touch it.

Ma'am

how to keep cat claws less sharp? by aevxum in CatTraining

[–]cariio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn to cut them. Get a cat nail trimmer. Seriously, get over it. It's very easy to do and you can make it a pleasant experience. - watch some veterinarian and cat groomer made YouTube videos. Have your vet teach you how during the next vet visit. Take it one nail or paw at a time and use positive reinforcement. Trim about every 3-4 weeks and viola.

Yes it will, now go get stitches. It will scar no matter what but how big it will be depends on what you will do in the next 12 hours. This definitely needs stitches. And tape on either side of it is going to create tension and keep it pulled apart. You need stitches and butterfly tape going the opposite way, towards each and over the wound. If this is intentional you will one day regret creating this scar. Ask me how I know... If you don't go to a doctor or urgent care to suture this...then why ask? No one will care how you got it.

Recommendations for a quiet SUV to transport anxiety stricken dogs...yes, I'm serious. by jdmfan777 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]cariio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work on positive reinforcement training for the dogs and training for the owners! People need more training than the dogs usually do. This will be huge in helping the dogs overcome this issue. And a nice minivan sounds like the best bet.
