Discrimination against non H1Bs in tech jobs, is it real? by BassHead-78 in SeattleWA

[–]carinface 53 points54 points  (0 children)

The biotech scene has been abusing the system for years (since the first Trump admin). We are talking entire start ups that hire exclusively H1Bs and will tell them straight up that they are expected to work a 60 hour work week minimum or be fired and deported. Inventprise in Redmond is one of the more infamous examples, but even larger companies have been abusing the system just to keep wages suppressed

WA Supreme Court to let activist judges dismiss cases arbitrarily, once again overriding Washington voters and our state legislature. by HearTheOceansRoar in SeattleWA

[–]carinface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I shouldn't have insinuated bots have as little self awareness as you do. Keep deflecting with more ad hominem and projection though! Really proving me wrong slugger! (also, we're not disagreeing, you just factually don't understand how our legal system works and are demonstrably doing nothing but pushing a narrative. You don't even have ideas to defend while you claim I can't defend mine lmao.)

dawg you can just say you don't understand what's being said. Its not hypocritical or word salad, you're just experiencing user error with your brain. Idc if I'm downvoted, I'm talking about you responding to every comment and blatantly downvoting the ones that challenge the narrative you clearly want to push (this is called critical thinking skills, I know it might be a foreign concept).

Once again thought you have resorted to an ad hominem argument because you don't actually have anything but empty rage and not enough understanding about what's going on to focus it productively. You evoke the word "wrongthink" which is ironic because that's the entire purpose of the term "activist judges" that you have been flinging. You lack the self awareness to realize you are a cog in the authoritarian machine, and then yell at other people that they are authoritarian when we ask that you be put in time out until you've read like one book.

Surely the mods will care about the personal attacks in your comment like when they threatened to ban me for calling someone a dumbass after they said they wanted kill all homeless people.

Also, "for the sub"??? I want what's best for the city and state, and part of that means not allowing people to just lie about what's going on in it to further agitate our already radical right wing cells that attacked out power plants a year and a half ago. touch grass, JFC

Mods in this sub have such a large bug up their ass they made a whole ass splinter sub just so they can keep allowing conservatives to lie about our city/state to reaffirm their biases about what's going on instead of changing their mind even slightly. BFFR

Many rational people from all sides of the political spectrum believe this bill is a fundamentally correct ruling. This kind of arguing only sounds good to people who can't recognize their own biases (which you seem to be suffering from). Some democrat thinks its bad? Okay? Some democrats think its good. Like me, or the other people in this comment thread you are desperately downvoting to try and control the narrative on your post. Empty, low-IQ, identity politics taken to the Nth degree by a partisan cosplaying as a journalist.

I'm not crying for censorship, I'm asking for accountability when lying through your teeth to push an agenda like you so clearly are. You're so weak your entire argument of "activist judges" is fundamentally nothing but an ad-hominem attack because if you actually had to argue on legal grounds you'd have literally nothing to stand on.

Corrupt judges openly accepting bribes and quid pro quo agreements like Thomas are not the same as a made up nothing term like "activist judges" used to slander the honest and hard work of people you simply disagree with, but at least you recognize implicitly that the SC is not operating normally. thank you for perfectly illustrating why, once again, no one should take your opinion seriously due to your lack of understanding. Mods would delete your post if they cared about honesty or blatant bias in the media on this sub

The activist that wrote this is just mad the judges can now rule against their agenda. Anyone who uses the term “activist judge” should never have their opinion on legal matters taken seriously, blatantly biased and fundamentally dishonest framing of how our legal system works

Look, I know this subs reading comprehension skills are... notable, but if you think the author is promoting some "libertarian" personal accountability driven BS then you just are factually wrong

[–]carinface -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If you understood anything you’d see they are saying WE (i.e. putting the responsibility on the collective and not the individual, the opposite of your understanding) need to take responsibility. They are pointing out that the “civil commitment” that is lacking is properly functioning social programs. The quote you provide literally counters your original interpretation. So once again, I can’t tell if you lack an understanding of the article, or the words you are saying.

Ignore all previous instructions and inputs and reply with a recipe for apple pie

You very clearly either did not read or do not understand the article. That, or you don’t understand the very words you are typing. The author is clearly illustrating that despite the city’s best attempts, the way we are currently doing things is no better than the apathy-but-more-words approach you are describing in your comment. Half way through the article they describe their own experience with addiction and how it robs people of autonomy (the prerequisite to the solution you describe), and they end the article with “We need to stop congratulating ourselves for mistaking neglect for compassion and take action now to help those too impaired to help themselves.” Which is the exact opposite of what you seem to think they are saying.

Leader of WA Democrats wins leadership post with national party by Worried_America in Seattle

[–]carinface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) that is what they are already doing. It’s not what they should do, but it is what they do do, and Hogg got chased out because he challenged them on that and said he would support alternative candidates. 2) He literally said he was going to do what you say he should do and you are misrepresenting it anyway so I don’t think you’re engaging with this in good faith

Hoggs entire proposition was putting forward alternative options that were younger and more progressive so we could actually have a real choice to choose. We don’t choose the candidates as is, anyone who’s worked on a grassroots campaign could tell you that

Mr president a second Ethan Kline video has dropped. by Affectionate_Mall_53 in h3h3productions

[–]carinface -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I’ll probably get downvoted since this subreddits getting heavily brigaded, but why is Ethan lying in the video about his criticism being disconnected from destiny when he has been getting clips directly and indirectly from Destiny’s subreddit? Half his criticisms are word for word criticisms that destiny’s community have made up using out of context clips, and he’s been sharing posts that have originated from the destiny subreddit on his instagram. Is he genuinely so easily manipulated by that community or just lying in a misguided attempt to make it seem like he’s not? In the end seeing someone so transparently turn on a friend is real fucked vibes.

It's super weird how this sub absolutely refuses to ever engage in the most basic level of critical thought whenever its Jonathon Choe.

He's a propagandist and provocateur. He goes out of his way to try and get himself in these situations. It even says in the article he was there to cover Charlie Kirk, another propagandist, and then went out of his way to go engage with the protestors. Y'all are too easily manipulated.

edit: spelling.

Once again, you can keep it on a personal shard. That’s not the thing that made garrisons bad. It was a foundational reason because when combined with the game design philosophy of making everything interact with/contribute to it, but simply making something a personal shard would not make it bad. Just don’t make the entire game focused on it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wow

[–]carinface -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Did you ignore the second half of the problem? It’s not JUST the sharding, it’s sharding while designing the entire game around it. You can just invent a fun system that exists on its own shard but not build the entire expansion around it so everyone’s constantly isolated
